About the only positive I can say about this place is the retired police officer running the shooting range is top notch and very knowledgeable. The owner is always right no matter what the customer thinks (opposite of good customer service). Their prices are above average. If you do buy a firearm here make sure to inspect it thoroughly. I purchased my first handgun here and didn't have much experience so I mistakenly trusted them. I ordered a gun with a safety latch on the chamber and when it came in I went back and picked it up. I didn't think to inspect it to see if it had a safety. Now I'm stuck with the gun. The only option they gave me was to pay them a fee to put it on consignment and was told I'd be lucky to get half of what I paid for it. The gun has never been fired. I should have read their google reviews about others with bad experiences here.
They have a decent selection of firearms. Used section is a bit on the small side. They now offer a indoor shooting range, though I have yet to use it.I went today looking for a specific weapon, but was told I was "out of luck". Only one employee seemed willing to communicate or be of any help. The rest gave off a vibe of indifference, even when asked about ordering the gun I was looking for. I ended up buying the gun from another business two miles down the road.
I have bought several guns+ a gun safe and will continue to give all my business to them!! They give personal attention to each customer and treat everyone the same-excellent customer service and professional. Quick to give advice for free and if they don't have an answer to a question they do their best to find it. Sure beats standing in front of a kimber case wanting to pay cash for one and nobody even acknowledging your existence for 30 minutes while their buddies who aren't buying anything get treated like the president like you get at a certain gun store off of the roan st exit in Johnson city!!! If there was ten stars they'd get ten from me!
These are some of the most helpful folks in the tri-cities. If you purchase from them they will stand by the products they sell you. Even when it comes to warranty issues. Smart guys and gals.
Purchased a brand new Mossberg Shotgun that never worked. I took it back and was told that they could only send it to the factory and it would be six weeks for repair or I could sell it back to them at 80% of value, which was really 50% of what I paid. I took my 50% reluctantly because I didn't want to wait six weeks. I told a friend about it, he went to The Gun Rack, noticed it was on the shelf, and purchased it at a discount but more than what I re-sold it for after he told them he knew the history. They said they were able to repair it in-house. This place is a RIP OFF and shouldn't be allowed to sell weapons. Don't trade with these people.
