Travelling from out of state and dog dislocated leg. Up-front told us nearly $300 just to examine and x-ray. Ok, we said... Dog out of sight. Then show x-ray of dislocation and told it will be $800 to put back in place and possibly $4000 if surgery needed. Can't afford.. please give us dog back. Dog comes out of room walking fine. Vet ask nurse, "Did it pop in by itself?" "Yes " she said. He left room and didn't even look at the dog or us. Obviously tried to rip-off travelers. BEWARE

I've been going to Manzanita Animal Hospital for over 8 years and I have always been happy with the concern of the staff and the expertise of the doctors there. The only time I have had to wait is when they were attending to an emergency (which is appropriate and what I would want if my pet was the emergency... which it has been before). I appreciate the careful explanations of the conditions and illnesses of my pets, and the thorough and honest recommendations for the best care possible. The doctors are very knowledgable and seem to love their work. I can't always do what may be optimal, and when that has been the case, the doctors have always taken the time to explain the pros and cons of the other options. On two occasions I have had to face serious emergencies with one of my pets, and both times the staff and doctors were very professional, thorough and attentive to her needs and I felt we received the best care available. My pets and I feel very comfortable there.
Wonderful veterinary service - Dr. Anderson is very caring and has treated two of my cats so far - and the rest of our cats and dogs will be seeing him. I've lived in the area for a long time; this is the best AND most reasonably priced animal hospital around! C. Bean
