        If you need a defense attorney, don't come here. Mcavoy is lazy, rarely returns phone calls, forget any visit to jail if you're stuck there, and is devoid of actual knowledge and expertise in basic law and courtroom procedure. I hired mcavoy having lived in NC barely two years so I didn't know anyone. I found out about him from one of his solicitation letters. As a result of his lazy, inept skills, I am currently stuck with criminal conviction for something I did not do. To this day I have video footage of the day of my arrest and of the arresting deputy sheriff from the CCSD which clearly proves I was not committing any crime, yet mcavoy refused to use the footage. Upon my conviction for the one misdemeanor charge, I asked for an Alford plea to avoid possible conviction for any other charges I was facing. Mcavoy had to look it up because he didn't know, law 101. His former paralegal has left his firm, I wonder why. She had a very high opinion of him at that time....Run the other way!
