The experience with Prodigy was terrible, almost from the first day. They provided us a layout of the home which indicated one of the bedroom sizes was significantly bigger than it actually was. We are not architects and we trusted Prodigy so we did not actually take a magnifying glass out to review the architectural plans; we reviewed the customer sheet that clearly laid out the home and the sizes of each room. They laid our tile in all of our rooms incorrectly and refused to correct it. Why give people the opportunity to customize things like tile if you are not going to follow through with their request? It was a mistake on their end and one that could have been remedied, even with an apology but we NEVER got one. Subs for the tile company did terrible work, including our grout being replaced THREE times, and refused to correct the rest of the work that was awful. The builder indicates that this is a product issue and it is not; I was told by multiple tile professionals as well as the grout representative that it is installer error. In addition, leaving jagged edges and filling chipped tiles with caulking is not a product issue - that is most certainly a character issue for the subs he hires. It's unfortunate that this was our dream and they made it awful because of the arrogance and lack of communication. We have gone into many of the homes near us that he has built and ALL have failing grout. He takes on way too many jobs with a small staff and hires the cheapest subs to get the work done quickly and doesn't care that the final product is someone's dream that they've worked very hard for.
