Caroline Anthony, proprietor of the eclectic Ocean Beach ceramic shop, Claytime Cermaics, asserts that there is no other shop like this in San Diego. She may be right. Strolling through the shops doors you encounter long shelves filled with unfinished ceramic cups, frogs, birds, mermaids, vases, bowls, and a hundred other shapes. Two wooden tables stretch from the door to a colorful mural covering the entire back wall. Massive shelves hold a variety of paints, stencils, stamps, and stickers. A pottery wheel sits next to the door; a mere $15 per half hour, the price includes clay and firing of your finished product. Caroline took over the business from its previous owner back in 2004 when she was looking to transition out of her job as an attorney and find a business where she would be able to spend more time with her husband and children. This well schooled woman is a Law School graduate and has a Master’s in Education with an undergrad in Psychology and Fine Arts. She has always had a passion for the arts and trained in classic fine arts, portraits, and watercolors when she was younger. “It seems like I’ve gone full circle,” she says. This shop doesn’t just cater to the individual artist, but hosts a variety of group events including birthday and office parties. Every Friday you can bring your own wine and between 6 - 10 pm, munch on the shops provided appetizers and paint to your heart’s content. Caroline also offers popular summer camps and participates in several fundraiser events for local schools. When Caroline is not busy with summer camps or parties, she provides creates beautiful henna tattoos and body art. Another unique option is her toddler feet and hands clay imprint service. If you want to capture you child’s hands or foot prints forever in clay, you can do this here at the store. “It’s about being creative; having a creative outlet. I feel like I am providing a service to the community,” says Caroline. You can’t help but agree that this shop far surpasses other local ceramic shops in its variety of services, events, and even prices. A small hand painted and kiln fired ceramic starts out at only $10. You can’t beat that.

I live in Washington state and wanted flowers delivered to my daughter-in-law in Sharp Memorial. I selected Windy's because they were relatively close and had a reasonable delivery charge. I also wanted a very special arrangement using her favorite colors. When the arrangement arrived, my daughter-in-law called to let me know that she loved the flowers and was getting so many compliments from the hospital staff about the stunning arrangement. That just made my day! Thanks, Windy's.....Great job!
I had a few pictures/pieces of art framed at The Gallery at Lands End, and each time I am thoroughly impressed. The customer service is great every time - they are so patient and helpful in assisting with picking out the exact frame I was looking for, each time... and there is no shortage of options! I also bought a beautiful handmade candler holder, made out of a wine barrell as a wedding gift that was a true hit! The art gallery leans towards local art with very reaonsable prices!
This shop has all of the tools you need to build any type of plane, boat, heli, car, or truck. I would recommend this shop to any and all level modelers. The only issue is two of the sales staff Justin and Eric have issues with providing customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Justin being a complete and total tool, he thinks the only way is his way, and Eric lacks all basic knowledge and tried to sell me his personal planes rather than the stock items?
I needed a new boutonniere, the first florist I ordered from gave us the incorrect color and there was not time to order a new one. I happened to stop at the Floral Gallery to see by chance if I could get a new one. They were so helpful and friendly! Within 15 minutes I was leaving with a new boutonniere in the color that I wanted. I appreciated the excellent and friendly service!
Color Me Mine in Rancho Bernardo/4S Ranch is the BEST paint your own pottery studio in San Diego (the ONLY Color Me Mine in San Diego!) Not only do they have the friendliest staff, they have the largest selection to choose from! The studio is GORGEOUS, the partyroom is HUGE and we had the best experience ever!! We're booking our second party with them, the first one was amazing!
WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND. My daughter goes to UCSD and we needed to get flowers to her for her birthday. She could not meet the delivery guy until after 5 P.M. When the delivery guy could not find Chanelle and returned to the shop, the OWNER took the flowers to her in the evening. THIS IS WHAT A SUCCESSFUL, CARING BUSINESSMAN WILL DO FOR HIS CUSTOMERS. Thank you SO MUCH!
Hands down 100% friendlier better than hobby people! after going to hobby central once, I will NEVER again spend my money at Hobby People. The guys at Hobby Central are great, love their customers, very nice and take time to help us out unlike the crapy attidudes at hobby people....Lee your the greatest!!
