The first time a friend and I stayed here was in April 2011 in the driving rain. Not good weather that day. The Wetherill was the first motel coming into town from Monument Valley so we stopped. The check in staff were friendly and courteous and got us into a first floor room quickly. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot so it could have been otherwise. There was a car parked in a non-parking space outside of door, which made it extremely difficult to get in the space in front of our room. We let management know this should not be happening and they quickly took care of the problem. So maybe he wanted to stay out of the rain, but other guests and management fully agreed he had no right to park there. We had a good night's sleep, comfortable, in a clean room and bathroom. We ate their continental breakfast, good selection, and was on our way to Canyon de Chelly National Monument. This second time I stayed in July 2013. I made a reservation this time since it was summer and surprise, I got the same room. Same positives, no problems, except the pillow was very hard and those give me a bad headache. I did let the management know, had my breakfast of good selections and once again on my way to Navajo National Monument. I would definitely recommend Wetherill to other travelers. I had to put a rating for the fitness center although I did not use it.

We selected The Wetherill Inn primarily by TA reviews and we were not disappointed. The check-in staff were very friendly and welcoming and did her best to meet our specific room location request. The room as spotless with nice clean carpet which felt nice to the bare foot ( a rarity in motels). The room had all the electrical amenities we wanted (fridge, micro, coffee) and a large flat screen TV with excellent channel package. The wifi worked well. The beds were firm and comfortable with good quality sheets. The breakfast area was spotlessly clean and offered a good choice of breakfast items. The location on the edge of town was quiet. The price is a little higher compared to the south of the state but very competitive to others in Kayenta. I would certainly stay here again if I was to return to this area.
Hotel had everything I needed for a one night stay: clean room and breakfast. Price was reasonable as I didn't go during the busy season. Had plenty of amenities in the room that match what I get at Hiltons and Marriotts but for a cheaper price like refrigerator, ironing board, coffee, etc. Staff was friendly when I checked in. Good options at breakfast like pancakes you can make. Bed was comfortable and TV had plenty of Showtime to catch a movie before bed. Happy to support a locally owned hotel. Plenty of parking and 20 minute drive to Monument Valley. WiFi worked well to send a few emails and check weather and directions. I would stay here again if ever back in the area. The night I stayed it was very quiet
We chose the hotel because it is very convenient to Monument Valley. Comfortable, clean, and quiet after a long day touring and driving. Their recommendation for dinner produced another surprise (great food at very reasonable prices). While the rooms were a bit dark and the lighting needed lots of improvement, the bed was wonderful. Very reasonably priced. Exterior looks pretty ordinary, but that's okay. Staff was very warm. We'd definitely stay there again if we were in the neighborhood. This stay was very reasonably priced, even though it was the beginning of tourist season.
Our "king" room at Wetherill Inn was very clean, spacious and extra large double beds extremely comfortable. Also our room had welcome little extras you don't get at more budget priced accommodation, such as hairdryer, iron, desk, alarm, wake up calls, fridge, coffee machine etc. They also have an expensive well stocked gift shop, inside pool, and laundry facilities. Their complimentary breakfast was one of the better ones we experienced on our trip, pancakes, yogurt, muffins, fruit salad, boiled eggs, coffee, and more to choose from.
A really nice hotel within easy striking distance of Monument Valley, Mexican Hat and other venues in the Navajo countryside. Our room was spotlessly clean and obviously well looked after in this pivotal location. It has a good reputation and a long history. The room was a very adequate size, well equipped and close to other facilities in the town. We will definitely use this again and we would be very happy to recommend it to other travelers. Very good.
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at the Wetherill Inn - weren't sure what we were getting when we made the reservation, and were absolutely delighted when we got there! We needed two rooms and they got us rooms on the 2nd floor that connected. One of the rooms was the corner room, close to the highway - but we heard no road noise, which was great! Very comfortable beds, spotless bathrooms, delicious breakfast the next morning. GREAT stay!!!
We enjoyed our stay here. Our room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was good and they have a nice outdoor area to enjoy your breakfast. Staff was very helpful and nice. I especially liked the new laundry facility. We were hiking for two weeks and having the opportunity to wash our clothes mid way thru our trip saved us lots of room in our suitcases and backpacks. I would definitely stay here again.
Didn't book ahead, lots of big billboards promoting this hotel. Staff were very friendly, and answered questions about Monument Valley and other sites in the area. Very attractive gift shop. Big room, comfy beds. Laundry hours limited. Overall, it was fine for an overnight stay. Staff are well informed about local attractions so be sure to ask them for suggestions and directions.
Stayed here for one night during our recent 3,000 mile road trip through the south-west states. Asked for and received a quiet King Room on the upper floor. Very pleasant and efficient reception process. Comfortable bed, selection of pillows, desk, chairs, air con, fridge, 24-channel flat screen TV, hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities, large free car park, free wi-fi.
