As a truck driver I've had sushi all over the country. This place is by far the best I've had to date. A family owned environment but the food is comparable to upscale restaurants and fairly priced. Highly recommended stopping in if you like sushi and are in the area. Don't let the exterior fool you, this place is a perfect example of not judging a book by its cover.
I love this place! First visit was 6 years ago. Every visit is so wonderful and so much great food! We always have a container to take home and the yellow sauce is perfect too. We have never been disappointed and go numerous times during the year.
DON'T GO HERE!!One of the worst restaurants I have attempted to eat at, coming from a restaurant connoisseur I was extremely unimpressed. Service was well below one star. I brought my mother here for her birthday with my family and like many other viewers I was very disappointed. I made a reservation for the 5 adults 3 toddlers and when we got there they were unprepared for us. We had to wait for them to get everything together. It went downhill from there. We ordered out food and our teppanyaki chef was incredibly rude. When tossing food to us he repeatedly through food at my mother (older ex. 63) when she clearly was not ready and kept throwing them at her while they landed all over her birthday dress and in her hair! Then when she said wait because her mouth was full he replied with "Come on come on I dont have all day..." then When I shot him a look he said just kidding. Really?! Considering there were children at the table he was not very child friendly in doing any trick or gaining their attention for a show while he cooked. Just extremely rude. We were given one drink refill while cups at out table sat empty the majority of the meal. On top of customer service. Food was mediocre at best. Defiantly not worth the price of $16+ (including a kids meal!) Since when does it cost $16 for a kids meal?! Birthday Surprise? Forget it. The charge you $5 to sing happy birthday and give you a piece of cheesecake with your picture. Umm pretty sure even basic Applebees does that for FREE. And 1 person came out with a drum and they didn't even really sing, it was only our family singing and some guy just played a drum horribly and off beat to the song. Worst experience I've EVER had with spending well over $140 and then a $20 for the crappy service.
Absolutely AMAZING!!I've been going to Mr Le's for a couple of years now. Prior to Mr. Le's I had never had sushi. My coworkers always asked me to go and I declined. However, one day I decided to tag along and I've been going since. The staff is wonderful and they always remember your preferences. You have to go!!
The waitstaff was very unprofessional and the food made both my boyfriend and I sick. I will never eat here again and I would never recommend it to anyone.
My wife and I tried this place out and loved it. She is a big Sushi lover and said it was some of the best she has ever had. And while Sushi is not high on my list of favorite things to eat, I must say that I even liked it. The big surprise was the amount of food for the low prices. We had four different rolls and at the end, we were stuffed! There is a trade off. The place is very small and barely has tables and chairs. It appears to be more of a "carry out" place. However, this probably allows them to have lower prices and better Sushi since the operating cost is lower. We didn't care, really; we were there for the food, not the location.
I tried the Spicy Maki Combo which I would recommend to anyone. The spice factor was not overpowering which allowed the flavor of all of the ingredients to come through. There is a generous portion of wasabi if you need to up the heat and a generous portion of ginger to tone it down if need be. The staff is very friendly and willing to answer any questions but their online menue could be a little more descriptive of ingredients. I truely hope they are able to make it since they are set back in a little strip mall somewhat overpowered by the burger, taco, cold sandwhich and bars also on the street. I live in the area and look foreward to trying their delivery service.
It was my sons 4th B-day and we usually go to Kona-Grill for sushi on as a tradition. We decided this year to give Nara a shot since it was close to our show at the midland. We had reservations at 5:45; when we arrived there was one other table, 2 hostesses, 2 bar tenders, 3-4 servers and a manager. We sat at our table for 15 minutes and watched 4 other tables arrive and get their drinks before our drink order was even taken. I was about to walk out when my girlfriend went and asked for service. At that time the manager came to apologies and gave us a bowl of peas that were un-shucked for appeasement. The sushi was poor quality (I've had better sushi from Sunfresh). Our bill for three 6-8 piece platters of sushi and three soft drinks was $55 - I left feeling ripped off.. I make a lot of restaurant recommendations to visitors in the Downtown area and have unfortunately recommended Nara a couple times in the past without ever trying it... I do not recommend it...
