Bad area, good employees. I once saw a sweet clerk walking around a blind women. Arm and arm, helping with a worn shopping list. Filling the basket as they strolled. The little old lady smiled on, arm and arm. A man told me she was a regular customer:) I've been harassed out side, barked out, sworn on for saying nothing to rif-raff. For ignoring ignorance? But I always felt safe stepping n those doors! No better welcome, no matter the day. Everyone smiled there. Don't let those smiles fade to frowns in a city so sad! We need more people like the Apple Market Staff, more smiles! what ever happened to consideration? Justification? Empowerment and motivation? Core values adopted by Candy, Teresa, Linda, My Leaky:) Skip, John, Benny:), my favorite little Mexican and my husband. When one door closes another one opens! May you have a hall of open ones!
I'm from los angeles where trader joes is every where. I miss it so much. I live in Independence now and have to drive out for 52 minutes just to get my groceries, the only problem i have with trader joes is that there is not one in independence. Make it happen please. i need my toms toothpaste and my trader joes tea tree oil and your incredible foods that you cant get anywhere else. please come to independence.
It is very nice to see the young, fresh, high-school faces. It feels good to shop here where the staff mirrors the community in which they are based. No pretention, just basic honesty, clean, and often some great deals in day-old bakery and produce. But the best? Buy a turkey there and have them smoke it for you. Yum. Ask them to give you the innards first so that you can make your own turkey gravy.
To those of us who live in the area, Bresettes IGA is like having our very own neighborhood grocery store. It is nice having a choice when you dont want to go into the crowded WalMart you dont have to because Bresettes has a good variety of products at low prices, a clean environment, and very friendly workers. All that along with being conveniently located in the neighborhood is great.
I've shopped here for years. And often ask myself why I do. The service stinks, especially in the deli department, which is part of the reason I go there to begin with. And I'm not sure they care. Read my blog post for specifics. http://www.v3im.com/2010/07/have-a-job-thank-your-customers/ From now on, I'll head to Hen House - where they are ALWAYS happy to wait on me. Always.
yeah its small and kinda trashy (a lot nicer now with the new coolers though ) but cmon, look where it is. do you expect something fancy? its prices are cheap and it has just about every basic thing you could need (it is missing a couple things i wish it had). what more could you ask for
I love this store!! Every time my son and I go to this store we are greeted by name. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They are always going above and beyond. My son loves to go and try there samples and see Ms Teri. She, and everyone else there are just great people!!!
Outstanding meats. To see the turkey shoppers at Thanksgiving is something to behold. In keeping with the season, those standing in line to pick up their pre-ordered, FRESH, turkey (never frozen, never injected) is a lot of fun with many conversarions with other shoppers. mw
This neighborhood market is a real gem. It has a very large selection of fine wines, a well- stocked deli, a great seafood area and a wide variety of products to satisfy most shoppers' needs. Yet it has a friendly small-town atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
I like shopping at this store. Reminds me of a small town store. Employees are friendly and helpful and you get DOUBLE COUPONS. Always has a great four day sale.
