Yellow Cab s drivers are also shareholders, making the taxi company the largest driver-controlled taxi fleet in the United States. Maybe among the most recognizable taxicabs, other than London s black cabs, Yellow Cab companies are in almost every large metropolitan area in the United States. The cab company was the first to implement computerized dispatch in 1989. The dispatch system is constantly being upgraded to insure that it maintains a high standard of efficiency. Yellow Cab drivers are properly licensed with the department of transportation. Yellow Cab does a complete background check as well as random drug testing to insure driver safety and reliability. Some of the services Yellow Cab offers include airport service, medical and social visits, out of the town trips, shopping malls, grocery shopping and tours of the area.

DO NOT USE YELLOW Taxi SERVICE if you need to be in a particular location at a specific time! I live 9 miles from the past I had called Yellow Taxi a few days before a trip....they said they would pick me up at a specific time and done so. I don't know what has happened between March 14th and my last trip in September of last year.....but it has definitely impacted the level of customer service. I called two days prior to the trip to schedule....the next day to confirm.....and on my date of departure was told Yellow no longer guaranteed specific "time trips". I ended up jumping in my car and paying for long term parking to avoid missing my flight. You would think with the taxi services "crying" about UBER....they would be doing all they possibly could to maintain loyal customers. I will NEVER use Yellow Taxi again! I hope UBER and other independent transportation services puts Yellow Taxi and their affiliates completely out of business!!!!!!!!!!!

Grabbed a ride home with Yellow cab bc car 1050 was available in front of me as I was requesting an Uber. The driver did not run the meter and requested cash. First warning sign. After a 5min ride (should have cost $8.00) he requested $32 and a tip. Didn't feel like arguing with him any further and thought they'd make it right after the case, but Yellow cab is an abhorrent company and to be avoided at all costs.

Arranged to be picked up 18 hours in advance for transport to airport at 5:10am. Called at 5:20- in hold for 10 minutes. They said someone had tried to call - not the case as I have an iPhone- no call- then said it was in its way. 10 minutes later called again; I hold 5 minutes-- now it's 30 mins late and they couldn't tell me when it would be there. So I had to drive to airport - almost missed flight. I will NEVER USE YELLOW CAB IN KC.

Latonya is a terrible person

We reserved a cab yesterday and it showed up 2 hours late AFTER we found another company. When we complained to management Latonya basically stated that if we didn't like it TFB. This company is completely UNPROFESSIONAL!



Only use cash!

This company, if given the chance, will rip you off. They have credit card machines on the back of their seats which is great, right? No! Don't use them. I swiped my card but was told it "didn't work", so the cab driver called in the card number and did a manual charge over the phone. The next day I had two charges for an already expensive ride! Folks I spent $70 for a cab ride from downtown to Lenexa. I put in a complaint with the manager for the double charge and that went nowhere. After trying to get my money from the company with no luck I called my bank to say it was a double charge and normally they can take care of it.....BUT since I swiped on the machine (which is registered in a different name than the company) and had it called in (under the company name) the bank could do nothing. This is obviously something the company knows!! So only take the yellow cab if you have cash otherwise they run a great scam using credit cards.

company is terrible. drivers aren't friendly...customer service polietly tells you to screw off...find a smaller cab service to call...they actually care...driver hung up on me when I asked for a 10 block ride...I called dispatch and they said they would send someone to me and no one came..I will never use them again


I had to wait for 3 hour yesterday on a cab the never showed up at Truman Medical Center (McDonald's side) for my husband which is wheel-chair bound to his doctor appointment's. It was supposed to be a Van with Lift! Everytime I had called back to see what was taking so long for the Van to arrive they wou (Danelle, Steve or Chrystal) would say 5-10 , 10- 15 minutes away! THE CAB DRIVER NEVER SHOWED UP!

My husband and I walked home from the hospital!!!!!

This was the worst experience of any taxi/cab service I have had. I reserved on line two days before and received a confirmation. When I called the day before to confirm was put on hold for 10+ minutes. When I did get a hold of somebody they said and I quote "yeah.....we have your reservation somewhere". I needed to leave my home at 5:30 a.m. Called the mornning of my pick up at 5:00 a.m. They said and I quote, "I don't think we can get anybody out there" with an arrogance in his voice. I called a competitor and they were at my home at 5:30. Will never give Checker the time of day. I gave it a one star as I had to put in at least a rating. It actually -1 star.




THIS CAB DRIVER TRIED TO RUN ME OVER. I was taking a cab from Westport to Prairie Village I asked him about how much the cab fare would be before we got in because I did not want to spend that much. When my friend and I first got in the cab he was eating a gyro so to be nice I told him to take his time and finish his food. Once we started moving I had to tell him directions the entire way home because the drivers never know where they are going. When we got to my house I was on the phone so I did not get out of the cab the minute we stopped but I was getting out my money. It was like he pressed some button that made the meter go up every second we sat there. When we pulled into my driveway the fare was $18.88 in the 60 seconds we sat there it went up to over $25.00 so I was arguing with him over the price while the meter was still going up! My friend offered to pay with her card and I told her not to because I knew he would try and charge us a lot more than we owed. I only had a $20 so I paid with that and asked him to give me $2 back because I did NOT want to tip him. He refused to give me my money back so we got out and I was trying to see his license plate number (I did not realize they go by cab number) when I did this he put his car in reverse and then came at me like he was going to run me over! He was laughing about it, if he drove a little bit further and I hadn't jumped out of the way he could have seriously injured me and he would have just driven away. This guy was evil! When I called the service and asked to speak with a manager the lady told me there was nothing that could be done because we didn't know the cab number. This man tried to run me over and they couldn't care less! I have always had horrible experiences with cab drivers with this service and they are ALWAYS trying to rip me off.

The over charged my sister by $100 because she got sick in the car. Do not use them they will rip you off anyway they can! Also no one at the company was helpful in resolving this issue. CROOKS!

Worst Service EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really wish I could give them 0 stars. I recently took a cab from Westport to Overland Park. The cab driver said the fare was $35 and some change. I only had $24 in cash so I gave him my card to pay. He said he's sorry but their card system is down and that he can only accept cash. (I've heard this on MANY occasions from cab drivers because they prefer to get paid in cash rather than card.) After arguing with him for several minutes he said he could accept card but he'd have to do it ""the old fashioned"" way. I paid him the $24 in cash and then I put $20 on my card. I checked my online banking today and that @$$hole charged my credit card for $20 three times! So my $35 cab ride ended up costing me $84!!!

Do not trust them! They are super shady and will rip you off!

Yellow sucks but Clark Express is ILLEGAL!

Check with the KCMO Regulated Industries Division.

Clark Express does not have its cars or vehicles authorized to serve as taxicabs in the city. It's drivers are not background checked and its cars not safety approved. There is no insurance filing.

BEWARE this is not a legit company!

Racist driver

Today I took yellow cab to go 2 miles away (had a back issue so had no choice), the driver took me on a long trip which cost me 10 bucks and on top of it he was RACIST!
When I pointed out that he was taking me the wrong way and that I can tell him the route way he asked me where I was from originally. I didn’t reply – he said I bet you are from ___ (name of my country), that’s why you are behaving like this!!!! Then he kept on going on an on about how my country folks behave like this! What a creep. I did complain about him but god knows if he’ll be ever reprimanded for this behavior. I will never ever take Yellow cab of KC again.

Terrible Cab Service Company!

Non-English speaking foreigners who don't know where anything is in Kansas City...They will ask you how to get not only do you have to pay for the ride but you also have to work it because they don't know where anything is in Kansas City, MO.......and then the audacity, if you have the nerve to complain, they have the nerve to tell you that you should feel lucky they picked up the ride, because they can get other fares and don't have to pick you up....I've placed so many complaints on them and the managers or supervisors are as useless as these foreign cab drivers...Let me tell you something Mufasa or whatever your name is...if you don't like your job, then quit...I pay your salary so don't bite the hand that feeds you - CLOSE OUR BORDERS EVERYWHERE!

Terrible Driver and Corp Management

Picked up a cab going from the river market to the crossroads district. He went right through P&L District taking 15 mins to go 3 miles racking up our bill vs hoping on the hwy real quick. I then dropped my keys in the cab. My fault. I understand that. But we immediately called dispatch. Because we hopped in a cab vs reserving one, they couldn't track it down. We knew he had a blue hat on, flower in front seat and was driving south on baltimore. We could still see his tail lights while on the phone we the dispatcher and they couldn't find him.

I paid by credit card and when I called in on Mon as rudely directed by dispatch, never heard back from the mngr. Called on Wed, he said he would turn off the drivers meter forcing him to call in. 3 weeks have gone by and no return calls.

I have determined the cab driver is saying my keys weren't in his car to save his rear. Had to spend $70 round trip for cab home to get spare key and then $287 to get a new master remote and key.

I'll walk in rain sleet or snow before I will give them another dollar.

I usually use Advanced Suburban Taxi, shame on me for not doing so this time!

The Worst Company

Don't ever use this cab, they will rip you off. Don't ever drive by this cab, they will find a way to strike your vehicle, not pay for it, and rip you off.

Their tactics are to wait outside of busy bars and areas, they do not follow the driving laws, and then provide crap service. Underpay them if possible. NEVER give a tip. But really, just avoid giving them any money if possible.

Also, they are not truly insured. They handle everything ""in house."" Therefore, if you die or get hurt in their cab, you will have to pay for it yourself the rest of your life because they would consider it your fault for choosing their crappy cab service in the first place.
