Overall

I HIGHLY recommend Plaza Animal Clinic. I have been taking my animals to Dr. Mountain for about 15 years. She is awesome. We moved to southern Johnson County and still drive all the way to the Plaza to get our animals' check-ups. I've had to have two of our cats put down this year within a couple months of each other (they were both elderly), and her and her staff were so professional and very caring. Both Dr. Mountain and Dr. Wages-Nichols are great.

My dog had complications from ...

My dog had complications from a surgery at another facility, so I called Plaza Animal Clinic because they were the closest to my house. They got me an appointment within an hour, and Dr. Mountain couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Being a new dog owner, I had about a zillion questions (from what kind of toys my pup should play with to what breed she might be) and Dr. Mountain answered each one knowledgeably and patiently. I found their prices (for the exam and the medications) to be fair, and the whole staff was friendly and helpful. All that said, I will definitely be making Plaza Animal Clinic my go-to vet from now on.

Best Vet in Kansas City

I have had both of the 2 vets at Plaza Animal Clinic for my cat. (I believe there are 2, with Dr. Mountain working on most days, and the other doctor working 1 or 2 days per week.) My cat got very good care from both of them, and they were very helpful in answering all my questions and listening to my concerns.

I read the previous review about the clinic not being trustworthy about charges. I think the vet may have made an honest mistake on that occasion. I have had very good experiences with both vets, and the prices are definitely reasonable. Plus they have excellent business hours, and the nicest staff you could possibly have.

On my last visit, everything Dr. Mountain prescribed and advised me on proved to be exactly right. Smoothest experience I have ever had.

It's nice to have a pet clinic here in KC that is so nice and professional and good at what they do.

Not a Trustworthy Place

This place is not trustworthy regarding charges. It seems like a nice place, and the vet I had, who works certain days per week, seemed nice and caring. She gave my pet the vaccination, mixed in with a lot of distractions and conversation. But then at the end of the appointment, she read over her notes and ordered a 2nd vaccination for something that sounded suspiciously identical to the 1st one. I had been told by her weeks previously that my pet needed just one more shot. The bill was shocking, especially for a totally healthy pet.

Plaza Animal Clinic the best VET and staff around! Thanks

Thanks to all at Plaza animal clinic,
I just want to give a brief thank you all the employees, and Dr. Mountain for their expert advise, and care for my dog BUDDY. A few monthes back I had Buddy at a vet in another state, the vet there advised me that Bud had heart worms, and needed to treated. I was in the process of moving, and thought it be best to wait until I was settled in KC. I took Bud in, and Dr. Mountain called advising me that Bud didn't have heart worms, and advised another test. This was on a Sat. Sun afternoon her technician called and confirmed that BUDDY was clean, (no worms). Thanks for a good vet with honesty and integrity! i will bring Bud back if he needs any more care. Thanks so much Dr. Mountain
