I had a phenomenal experience at Nolte's! I am on a tight budget and heard about a big sale they were having. Unfortunately, I was also graduating on the day of their sale. They were very understanding and sold me a gown for a great sale price a few days earlier in the week!! Anna was so helpful and did not give up when I went through 6-8 dresses before she finally found one from the back that I love!! Plus, the private dressing rooms are huge and have nice couches for your guests to sit!

I had been all over Kansas City looking for wedding dresses on Saturday. We started at one that was nice, I got to pick a few of my likes to try on but then by the third dress it seemed to have gotten crowded so I was ready to get out. I was then off to David's bridal and can I say 'nut job'?? The lady who was helping me was helping three other girls, and she was the only who could bring me dresses and of course they were the ones that she picked for me :( Needless to say I just tried on but never got close to what I liked. Then it was off the the third place which had great gowns but again she picked what she thought I would like, but there were so many gowns and I only tried 5. I was so confused so i left feeling overwhelmed. By the time I arrived at Nolte's I felt a little uneasy about the cost of the gowns but went in with an open mind. Donna, the store manager was so sweet and wonderful from the time I introduced myself until the moment I bought ""the one"". She wasn't pushy, but rather sweet and helpful. You could tell she had done this for awhile. I got to choose which dresses I tried on, which was fantastic. I even grabbed a few I thought that weren't me but would be fun to try on. The ladies at Nolte's bridal were so helpful and I had my own room to try on, so no overcrowding or random people walking in and out of your room. Donna suggested accessories to shoes and even helped me match the perfect veil. She was such a delight and made it easy to find MY DRESS. I would recommend Donna and Nolte's bridal to any bride to be as I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them and look forward to do business with them in the future.
Nolte's was the absolute worst part of my wedding. My dress arrived 4 weeks late, and it was several sizes too small. What you need to know about Nolte's before you buy a dress there, is that THEY DO NOT HAVE ALTERATIONS! They have one woman who comes a couple of times weekly to do alterations, but she doesn't work for Nolte's. So if your dress doesn't fit, Nolte's will NOT care. The woman who comes to Nolte's to do alterations kept insisting that my dress fit correctly, and that "not being able to breathe" was a part of the "suffering" that I must endure while wearing a wedding dress.
Mrs. Nolte then came and admitted that it was way too small. The tailor insisted she couldn't fix it, but Mrs. Nolte brushed that off and told us that she believed in the tailor.
I called the tailor a couple of days later and she nonchalantly said she wasn't going to have time to fix the dress. 3 weeks before my wedding, and nobody bothered to tell me. Next Nolte's recommended I take it to a plaza tailor. When I went to get my dress from Nolte's to take it to the tailor, they refused to let me take the dress without paying for the remaining balance.
That plaza tailor is another story in itself, but bottom line, SHE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DO WEDDING DRESS ALTERATIONS. She said she didn't know how to do a bustle, and if she tried, it would look "sloppy." I called Nolte's to double check that this plaza tailor in fact did work with wedding dresses, and they insisted that they use her often, which I later learned from the tailor that according to her, she hadn't worked with Nolte's much.
The tailor messed my dress so badly; it was a complete disaster. She also had 2 dogs in her store, which might explain why the bottom of my dress was turning black slowly.
My florist recommended a place to get my bustle done, so I decided I would take my dress no matter what it looked like, because every time I would go to the tailor, it looked worse. After two weeks of this nightmare, I called Nolte's and said that my wedding was next week, and I NEEDED solution. The person on the phone, Brandy, said she'd tell Mr. Nolte and have him call me back. I also asked if they could please help clean my dress, because it was black on the bottom. They said that it wasn't their responsibility to clean dresses, but they'll try to spot clean it.
In the meantime, I paid the tailor at the plaza her money, because I couldn't deal with her anymore. I took my dress to the new tailor. When she saw my dress, she was shocked! She told me she stayed up until 3am that night fixing my dress, because there was no way she was going to let me walk down the aisle in that.
After the new tailor fixed my entire dress, I realized that it was 4 days later, and no one from Nolte's had called me back, even my wedding was a mere week away. They didn't know that I had taken my dress elsewhere. So they let 4 days pass by the week before my wedding, and didn't have the professionalism to try to help me find a solution. I decided to call them back, and Brandy told me that she hadn't told Mr. Nolte to call me yet, and she's sorry she was busy with other things. No one from Nolte's ever reached out to me to see what happened with my dress, or to see if I had even fixed it.
Not to mention, that throughout this whole ordeal, they took no responsibility for the size being wrong, and insisted that I had picked my own size. Nolte's claims that all of their customers choose their own sizes, and that they're not responsible. If you're not able to help customers pick sizes, or to provide alterations, then what exactly do you do???
My vendors all said that they had heard horror stories like this about Nolte's and that they weren't surprised.
This is the FIRST review I have ever done, but Nolte's almost ruined my wedding. They made NO attempt to help, and seemed very uninterested once I had paid. Stay far away!
The dress was delivered, on time, in the size chosen by the client. Alterations are not padded into the price of the dress. Many clients prefer their own tailor. The tailors were refer, are done as a favor to brides who don't have one. In multiple conversations, we tried to help this client and happiness eluded her each time. There were multiple attempts to help but sometimes that is not enough. I am sorry the client chose to use this forum to yet again express her view of the reality. Others might assume it's true.

This is the very first time I have taken time out of my day to write a review. I am doing so only so there is not another bride that has to go through what I went through.
I made an appt in Feb to try on dresses for myself and my bridesmaids for my May destination wedding, we went to Hawthorne Plaza. I did not purchase my dress at Nolte's however my bridesmaids did. BIG MISTAKE. I knew a head of time what dress would be chosen so we ordered them on Feb 21st, they insisted that we put a rush on it or they would not be ready until the week of April 21 a week and a half before the wedding. With the rush the dresses we due back March 27th. On April 2nd I called to inquire, no one would answer my question OR call me back....reason being...my dresses were never ordered! Our accounts were charged but no dresses.
Mr Nolte calls me and gives a lame excuse that this particular dress and color combo had not been done before etc... And promised that the dresses would arrive before the wedding. Each week we would call same story dress will be here. 2 days before leaving for my Marco Island I am shopping for dresses off the rack for my bridesmaids....not what a bride wants to be dealing with when she is packing for her wedding and honeymoon. When I asked for my rush fee to refunded Mr Nolte said, these dresses are costing me $500 to get here now! Retracted and said, but that is not your problem. Bottom line....my problem was I was getting married and had no bridesmaids dresses....reason why....I bought from Nolte's.

I recently began my search for ""The Dress"" at Nolte's this summer. I visited countless other bridal boutiques in the area before Noltes...and after my experience there I never set foot in another! Ashley at Hawthorne made my experience so GREAT! I never felt pressured or rushed, and she really ""got"" what was I looking for, without me even really knowing! They are always eager to help and answer questions when I call or stop in, no matter how busy they are. I would recommend them to anyone looking for great customer service and quality products! I am so thankful I decided to purchase with Nolte's.

I recently purchased my wedding dress from Nolte's Bridal in Briarcliff. I had a wonderful experience and the staff was so so helpful. It was nice to have my own, beautiful room. Other places I had went I had to share a mirror with other customers. I did not feel rushed or pressured, and my consultant picked out the most beautiful dress for me, one I would not have picked off the rack. She was very helpful and I was very impressed. My dress was a top designer and was 60% off! This really helped my budget while still getting an absolutely beautiful dress. I would definitely recommend Nolte's!

Our entire wedding party were treated like gold from the time we began shopping for a wedding dress and walked into the Briarcliff location to meet Jill, one of Michael Nolte's staff. After Jill spoke with my daughter at length, we were asked to view a few dresses that Jill chose based on my daughters desire and taste. The dressing rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. She made suggestions that we had not thought of which was really helpful to us. We ended up choosing two Michael Nolte originals which were beautiful! She will wear one for the rehearsal, the other on her wedding day. The accessories that Jill suggested were perfect! Michael was present on several of our visits and took the time to look at my daughter in both dresses. Michael and his staff run a first class operation! I would recommend Nolte's to anyone seeking beautiful formal wear, an attentive, caring staff, and personal service. Thank you Michael, Jill and Sunny for all you have done for our family!

I just want to say that my experience with Nolte's has been wonderful! They have given us the ""red carpet"" treatment at every visit. Jill has accommodated us with fabulous service at the Briarcliff store. Mr. Nolte is a wonderful man full of information and suggestions. They have been willing to find whatever our hearts desire. I know when I get married Nolte's is where I will be getting all of my wedding day needs.

My husband surprised me by arranging a trip to begin shopping for my mother of the bride dress. While checking in our hotel we asked the front desk if they had any suggestions where we should begin our search and we are so glad they suggested Nolte's. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we felt special. The gentlemen who helped us was fun, professional and had an extreme talent in finding dresses that looked and felt great on me. The dressing rooms were spacious with large mirrors and a couch, enabling my daughter & husband to be a part of the experience. I was handed 6 dresses and honestly would have been pleased with 4 of the 6! I opted not to try on any more as the dresses he chose fit my personality & body shape perfectly! My son recently became engaged and even though Kansas City is more than 4 hours away from my home town, Nolte's will be the first place I shop for my mother of the groom gown also. Nolte's offers a variety of styles and price ranges for mothers of all ages. A first class experience for me!

I had a good experience with Nolte's in Briarcliff. I was looking for a MOB dress and found that Sunny was very helpful. She helped me find a dress that was appropriate for my age but still looked very stylish. She was honest and gave me her opinion when I asked. She was very helpful from a mature point of view and I have since referred other MOB's to her.

I live out of state but am getting married in Missouri. I knew I didn't have much time to look for a dress, so I went with the expert, Mike Nolte. As soon as I arrived we were treated like royalty. Mr. Nolte sat down with me and listened carefully to everything we were considering, from the details of the wedding to how I met and got engaged to my fiance. His attention to detail is incredible and adds a nice personal touch to the experience. I brought pictures in of what I was looking for, and he said he knew my perfect dress right away. I'm very picky and not always an easy fit, but Mr. Nolte was patient and never gave up.
Mr. Nolte is truly an expert when it comes to weddings and brides. He offered many helpful tips and solutions. Many brides are new to the whole wedding experience (it's not like we get married every year). This is why I would recommend going to get advice and help from an expert who lives and breaths weddings daily.
When I started to plan my wedding, I made a list of the top five most important things for my wedding, and the dress was number one. I'm so excited and can't wait to walk down the aisle with the perfect Nolte dress.
Thank you Mr. Notle for you time, attention, and care and for helping to make my big day a beautiful success!

After getting engaged, the first 'to-do' on my list was...DRESS, DRESS, DRESS!! Nolte's immediately came to mind!! I had tried on a few dresses at another boutique in town, but I didn't feel like they truly understood my style and vision. Plus, they only allowed me to try on 5-6 dresses total. At Nolte's, I worked with Ashley who was absolutely fabulous!! She called me one Thursday afternoon to invite me in after a cancellation. Without a thought I said yes!! The next thing I knew, we were knee deep in silk organza and chiffon. I tried on at least 20 dresses and found ""the one"". It's like it was made for me. We selected 6 of our favorites and had those ready when I brought in my mother and bridesmaids a couple of weeks later. Without a doubt, The Austin was a hit!! I had it on at the end of the appointment when Mr. Nolte stopped by. I felt immediately he was interested in my story and offered nothing but excellent advice and referrals. Through his suggestions, I feel like I found not only great photographers, but a dress that Daniel and I will never forget!! Thank you Ashley and Mr. Nolte for making me feel like a beautiful bride!!

I do not take joy in writing a poor review but feel I have no choice from how I was treated at Nolte's in Overland Park. I stopped in on a Monday without an appointment because I live out of state and was passing through town. The store completely absent of any customers when I came in and I respectfully asked the TWO ladies if I could look at a few dresses, I had specific dresses in mind from the lines they carried. They said no, they were too busy doing paperwork! I thought since there were two women that one could possibly break away for 10 minutes to help me. I was wrong, I asked again, explaining I only wanted 15 minutes of their time and they insisted that that was unreasonable and that ""most bridal stores aren't even open on a Monday!"" I was astounded and they said ""you can just LEAVE"", and shooed her hand at me. Since I only spoke to her for about two minutes, I thought maybe she didn't understand I only wanted a litle bit of their time, so I started explaining my situation, she rudely turned to her co-worker in the middle of my sentence and started talking. I addressed this and said, it is very rude for you to talk to your coworker when I am the only person in the store and I am just asking you a few questions. She glared at me and said that they were very busy and that ""we wouldn't get along anyway"". Hmm. That treatment is dumbfounding! I have been to exclusive designer boutiques in France, Italy, Japan, Spain, Greece, and all throughout the US, and in all of my travels I have never been treated disrespectfully. I've been seriously considering a $17,000. designer dress in Chicago, but these two dorky, middle aged ladies in KC wouldn't give me the time of day to show me their dresses. That is bad business. Without the customer, they would have no job, no paperwork to do on a Monday. On a separate note, I did meet Mr. Nolte on a later occasion and he was more than gracious and professional but should clean house of his incompetent & RUDE staff!
