I eat there as often as I can afford, maybe more. I'm not a rib guy. Not a burnt ends dude. For me it's all about the Martin City Mayor, Cheesy corn bake, prawn when it's available, a good cold brew , just good food and a full belly. For me in a city full of great BBQ this is the best of the greatest. Don't forget the chicken and beef, I'm not a seafood man but I know they have fresh fish that has got to be good for those that enjoy it!
Try the Burnt Ends! Jack Stack is another stop on the BBQ trail of BBQ capital of the world, Kansas City. This one, however, is aimed at being upscale (though nothing too crazy, it's BBQ not French food). Instead of gas station ambiance (which is certainly fine some of the time) Jack's is a more commercialized and you can get a bbq sandwich with even French bread wrapping the succulent smoked meat. The specialty is burnt ends though, crispy to moist in one bite.

Food was brought out quickly. Must try the baked beans and I had the ""Burnt Tips"" which was great! So tender and smoked to perfection. Dont waste a side on fries.. try the corn and coleslaw! I highly recommend. Good eats! Portions are hearty...expect to take some home for later! =)

I moved to Kansas City for the Barbecue. I swear. And Jack Stack is the alpha, the omega. The end all, be all. The 800 pound gorilla of barbecue. I've had memphis . . . Memphis is a joke. Tastes like spam. Texas barbecue is like eating a dog toy. Nothing. Nothing. Compares to Jack Stack. So it is written, so it is done.

I live in CA and visit KC 2-3 times a year, and on every visit ensure I get to this restaurant. While I prefer the ""homey"" atmosphere of the Martin City location, the Overland Park location is more convenient to reach. This is one of the best quality BBQ restaurants I've visited in any region across the US. I ususally carry a cooler with me to KC to be able to bring food home, because my family has become addicted to it as well. If you're in KC, DON'T MISS this place!

The VERY best beans in the world! Meat can't be beat. Coleslaw is to live for. We always order the Roundup meal and enjoy the leftovers. Hubby won't eat BBQ anywhere else. His brother from Dallas is furious they don't have Jack Stack restaurants in Texas.

While visiting from out of state & wanting BBQ, our hosts suggest JackStack. What a great visit we had! The food was seasoned/served superbly, with ample amounts for all. I had few complaints, one being the wings appetizer arrived with the dinner. Also, the sausage was dry, perhaps it was oversmoked/moisture deprived? Lastly, the ribs (all-beef/pork/lamb) were a bit too fatty for my liking. But that did leave them moist & they were tasty nonetheless. Our cute waitress Rebecca was a bit overzealous, but that beats being ignored. The waitstaff appeared interested & devoted to their customers. All in all, quite an enjoyable dining experience. Strongly recommend.

A family move in the early 70's brought me to KC and it's heavenly barbecue. I've traveled a bit since, have sampled many other styles of barbecue throughout the country, but Fiorella's Jack Stack BBQ still reigns supreme. The flavor is excellent, service in any one of their three restaurants is top-notch, portions are a meal-and-a-half, and the menu has seafood and steaks that are out of this world. You don't even need to be in KC, because they ship it across the country. WOW!

For some of the best BBQ I always take my out of town guest to Jacks. I have had some of them take the menu home with them. And one of my friends have them ship it to their house in florida each month.
Mouth watering burnt ends, and a great lunch menu keeps me comming each week.
