My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Plaza and dined at Brio. We decided to take our time for dinner and ordered an appetizer and shared a bottle of wine. When it came time to order our meal we both requested whole grain penne. Our dinner came with the wrong noodles and it was no big deal but our waitress took our food back and apologized several times. We decided to exchange cards and the manager, Matthew, came to apologize for the mistake and he said our food would be out soon and that they would not charge us for our meal. We were very appreciative! Within a few minutes later he came back with 2 glasses of champagne and said "no anniversary is complete without a little bubbly!". We couldn't believe it, we're just a young normal couple enjoying our anniversary dinner. Our food came and it was delicious! Our waitress, Amy, came to see if there was anything else we needed. My husband said we were ready for the check and she said that it was ALL taken care of. My eyes started to tear up-I was blown away by their service (and food!). So we had a bottle of wine, appetizer, champagne, entree and dessert all taken care of by the manager. Now, I know this is a rare occurrence and we were an exception. But because of the wonderful service our 6th anniversary was one we'll always remember and be thankful for. Thank you Brio!!!

Although the portion sizes have decreased, the taste and presentation of the food there is glorious. The worst service I had was during prom weekend (we didn't know) and it took an hour to get our food. The restaurant manager gave us our meal for free. If you are familiar with the KC area, I would find out when homecoming and prom weekends are because it takes forever to get food. Other than that, this is an amazing place. I would reccommend it to anyone. Sundays are bonuses because there is always a live band playing in Zona Rosa's courtyard, so if you eat on the patio, then you will have great music as well as great food.
The BEST Italian cookies in the Kansas City metro area & I mean the best -- I search ed high & low. They use the freshest ingredients that puts them #1. I have enjoyed several flavors & given others to friends: Anginetti (Lemon Drop cookies), Cuccidati-Sicilian fig Stuffed Cookies, Mini White Italian Wedding cookies, Florentines (Lace cookies) & much more. Excellent!
I love this place! My boyfriend and I go there are often as we can! The food is wonderful! They have huge portions and I think the prices are more than reasonable! We have only sat down to eat once but didn't mind the atmosphere, we normally get it to go. We almost always get the Lasagna and for me it makes two meals. I would recommend to everyone!
This review is long overdue. IL Centro is one of my favorite spots in Kansas City for good wine and amazing Italian food. It has a certain charm and coziness to it that is hard to find. Plus their wine list is phenomenal. I highly recommend the Veal Piccata and the Lamb Chops. Also be sure to have Brent pick out a glass of wine (or two) for you.
We can go there for lunch or dinner and have a good deal! There food is "GREAT" and the service is even better. Whether you are a couple of two or a party of 20 the service is superb. I would recomend it to anyone ! If you haven't been there you should go !!!!!!!!
Good atmosphere and the service u have there was great. The food was wonderful. First time I have veal and bacon and it was so good. My friend and I have veal/bacon as well as their seafood pasta and those 2 dishes alone were enough for the 4 of us. Would recommend ;)
Always they make freshly when you order and all different pastas have been great. Desserts also very good and typical Italian Perfect place for dinning and also perfect for just for wine or coffee.
Salad and breadsticks is what really makes this restaurant a good place to eat. I also have tried a variety of different meals which were good too. Tiramisu is really good too.
We went on a Sunday. yp.com said they opened at 11 a.m., but they don't. They're open at 4 p.m.. We had to waste 2 hours just driving around waiting for dinner. Inconsiderate!
