THIS IS THE MOST HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT! RUN THE OTHER WAY! ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE IN WESTPORT! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE MANAGER AND TERRIBLE STAFF! IF YOU WANT GOOD SERVICE - GO ELSEWHERE!We are not off to a good start. First time we have ever been to the Foundry. Walked in the door at 5:45pm, it's 5:58pm and still not a waiter or waitress to be seen.5:59pm: Eric finally shows up. Unapologetically apologized about our wait, never really made eye contact and couldn't seem to stop fidgeting the entire time he was at our table. We knew then to order or we wouldn't see him for who knows how long.We ordered the All-Nighter steak burger, Nashville Hot chicken sandwich, Buffalo Tots and a J Rieger gin martini "dusty".Eric took the order, left without taking the menus or refilling our waters. 6:10pm still no water, no martini, nothing...6:19pm still no water, no martini, nothing...6:20pm, Eric shows to tell us they do not have the requested gin. I tell him a vodka martini will be fine - he never asked for a brand preference and quickly leaves the table. In the meantime, I've counted 42 drinks leave the bar and be served to surrounding tables.6:21pm, my martini is made and sitting at the bar.6:24pm, no martini but I did ask a different waiter for a refill of water- he was kind enough to do so.6:25pm, Eric basically tosses the martini on the table, vodka literally splashes outside the glass and he huffs away. The martini was a very poor quality of vodka, olives weren't actually IN the drink but rather sort of hanging out of the side of the glass. The glass is barely 1/2 full. Nice waste of money.6:34pm, no Eric, again no water and no food. 6:37 - DONE - we get up to leave. I have had some not-so-great restaurant experiences in my lifetime... this was one of the VERY FEW times I've ever left before even receiving my meal. No server in sight... I have to go to the Host Stand to find a person just to pay for my martini. The gentleman there was kind enough to apologize and quickly try to resolve the issue. He goes frantically searching for the manager who is nicely propped up at a hightop table in the bar socializing. He appears to be about 18 years old and this guy has NO IDEA how to be a manager... but he was doing a great job at oogling over the female at the table he was sitting at... great game there buddy, get your flirt-on while on-the-clock... ridiculous. As ridiculously terrible Eric is/was tonight - the manager is worse and then some. Lazy, unprofessional, sloppily dressed and simply rude. He RELUCTANTLY told me not to worry about paying for the drink and never ONCE apologized. I always tip...tonight I left $0.00. Yes. No tip. So feeling bad about not tipping, I'll do so here......To the worthless manager, here is your tip... anyone in their right mind who is employing you must know that your days in this job are numbered. You are an awful manager and have no sense of customer service - you didn't notice a table left basically unmanned for 45 minutes tonight. EVEN WORSE, when we found out you are the manager, you were 1/2 the reason we waited so long for a table because you stood at the Host Stand staring at the table waiting to pawn us off on someone else.... but then, you couldn't find anyone to seat us... when you finally did get us to the ONLY clean table in the back section of the restaurant, you had to kick an EMPLOYEE out of the booth and re-clean it while we stood around and watched! You are terrible at your job and a worthless manager!......Eric, here is your tip, find a new job because being a waiter is not for you. Because of your horrid service and the terrible management of this establishment, we will never shadow the door of the Foundry again...and I'll publish my review in every avenue of social media I possibly can...this wasn't just coincidentally a bad experience, you were both plainly terrible and ruined our dinner and experience. The Foundry = WORTHLESS!
