Its been about 1 and 1/2 years since me and my wife bought a 2012 Toyota Camry from this car dealer and I have a tale and a half. Originally I explained to them that I was in the process of possibly having to go on disability and wanted to keep my payments below 400 per month. We test drove the car and was happy with it. We filled out the paperwork and got back the numbers. The payments came to 420 per month. I was assured that in one year after making payments on time that I could refinance and get lower payments by their finance person. I did get the car with nothing down which says something about my credit at the time. We opted to go back after 1 1/2 years and try to trade down so as to lower payments. Without telling the salesman we originally purchased the car there we proceeded with the process and found a 2010 Kia SUV (think it was Sportage. Its been a month) with 60k miles on it and our 2012 Toyota Camry had about 40k on it at the time. We submitted all the needed paper work and the salesman informed us we owed 7,000 dollars to much on our car-yes I said seven thousand dollars. Then I said we had bought the car from them and what was they going to do to help and I left out and went to car leaving my wife behind to get final result as I was to angry to stay inside, I went to car. She followed in a few minutes with no resolution except the little guy said to her (which she didn't tell me till I was far from place) " If we would stop buying daily drinks at Quiktrip we could afford the payments we have now". Since then without my knowledge my Daughter went there and bought a vehicle and they had the audacity to send me a letter with a 300 dollar (LOL) gift card 2 week ago if I come and buy a car from them. I called them to try and give them a chance and was transferred to a manager who basically was no help and renewed my need to plaster on every sight I can how they have scammed me by their own admittance of their employees. Don't know if I can continue payments as I am in a PICKLE, as I am not working and on path to disability, but have not been late yet. They was informed of this possibility up front but we also needed reliable transportation is reason I even made effort as my wife is also disabled. I would not send my foe to these people let alone a friend or relative. THEY WILL PUT YOU IN A PICKLE THEN TRY AND LOOK GOOD IN REVIEWS, LOOK AT OTHER REAL COMPLAINTS AND NOT THE ROSIE AND PROBABLY MANY FALSE GOOD REVIEWS TO KEEP THE STAR LEVELS UP, NONE OF THEM SAY THEY WAS EVER HELPED AFTER THE BAD EXPERIENCE WITH CARSMART, AND FUNNY ALMOST ALL ROSIE ONES ARE 5 STARS. if i could give them -500 stars i would 08/20/14 still in a pickle because Ted is a dealer for $..update Sept. 26 2014. ok Ted I just seen your response on Aug 25 when I came back to refresh my rating and I will see you b4 long....if the offer still stands? 10/29 update Well he tryed to help but there is no helping us now as some bills i should pay I cant due to medical and car payment thats to high so I now will remain in a pickle because of this pickle. Still havent missed a payment but I know the day will come.................

The finish line was exactly what I was looking for. I have a great job, make good money and a professional lifestyle, and always had excellent credit. But due to my child's illness and the medical bills, my credit was hit badly. I went to the major dealerships, and even with a good chunk of money down, I was rejected. It was embarrassing. They suggested the buy here/pay here lots, and that whole experience was sickening. All they had were older worn beaters, (not exactly what I wanted to drive my clients in) and the cars were extremely overpriced, way over kbb and at interest rates that were outrageous! (41%! are they serious?) For sale by owner CL cars require cash only, and i didn't want to wipe out my entire savings. Then I found The Finish Line! All I needed was a little money down and I am now driving a 2009 Audi A4 for around the same payment I had been making on my old impala!I had paid way too much for the impala at a big dealership and not going to make that mistake again.It's a small, homey dealership with a warm helpful staff. Angie, my salesperson was just amazing. Not only is she great at explaining everything and patiently answered all of my questions, but she is just darling and an absolute delight to work with. My kids adored her so much that they have asked when they can go back to "go see Miss Angie again".Financing was professional, easy and straightforward. Everyone knows that the better your credit score, the better your interest rate and my score was Less than average. But he found us a lender that was fair and willing to take a chance on me and put me in a high quality vehicle I need for work. I felt I was in the best of hands with him, which was such a relief after all I had been through. You know, i read the last review of the place and am not sure those people went to the same place that I did. It doesn't seem possible that I had such a totally different experience. Maybe they are mistaken, I don't know, but I DO know what I experienced, and it was the best car buying experience I ever had. The owner,Thomas, even took the time to introduced himself to my family and thanked us for allow him the opportunity to earn our business.We are just one small Overland Park family, but for what its worth, we would like to whole heartedly recommend The Finish Line for anyone looking to purchase their next automobile.
I had heard an advertisement for Car Smart on 98.9 (The Rock) about Ted Heater's Nickel/Pickle Sale. I really needed a new car and I'd been looking for some time. I went to Car Smart's website and sent them a message, which they replied to very quickly. I sent them my information and received a phone call the next day that I'd been approved for financing. So I set an appointment for the following Monday. I took my mom with me since I'd never purchased a car before. When we arrived we were greeted by Chris and were treated like we'd known each other for years. We sat down and I gave him the information he needed from me. He gave me a copy of my credit score and walked me through every step of the process. He answered all my questions with great knowledge and really showed his expertise. With the help of my mom's credit I was approved and Chris drove up a 2013 Mazda 2 to us. He came along with us for the test drive and talked with us about all the features of the car. When we returned to the lot we met with the financial counselor who told us about every detail of the financing. After sitting down and going over the paperwork we walked out with the 2013 Mazda 2. I also was handed a jar of Pickles with a message and autograph from Ted Heater himself. A week later I received two cards from Car Smart. Both were hand written. One from Chris thanking us for our business and his number if we needed anything at all. The other was from Ted Heater himself congratulating me on the purchase of my first car, and that he and the team are there for us. If this doesn't show commitment and service then I don't know what does. I have referred Car Smart to all my friends and I know that if I need help in the future that Ted and Chris and the whole team at Car Smart will be there for me when I need them. So I waited a few weeks before writing a review. I wanted to make sure the car was as good as it looked before saying anything either way. I have horrid credit and a car that is falling apart. I looked at some buy here pay here lots and I have to say I was scared! My boyfriend and I both heard a Car Smart ad on the radio so I decided to go ahead and look online. I got a call the next day at about 10 am. I gave the girl all my information and she told me I was pre-approved and we made an appt for noon. I had my dad come with me as my boyfriend couldn't and was running a bit late. No problems there. They offered hot dogs, chips and water as well as an awesome little theater for the kiddos (or my dad lol)I looked at a lot of the cars, which were all around 2012 or newer and had a few cars in mind. My older car now is an Audi, I love the german cars! Mike Baker was AWESOME, he had ME choose my top 3 cars and went to look at them. He never tried to push anything on me. All said, I drove away in my beautiful 2012 Jetta that still has a factory warrenty and never once did anyone make me feel less because of my credit.Mike even called an insurance person for me to see if he could get me a cheaper insurance rate (since mine went up a bit more than I had planned)I have bragged about Car Smart to everyone who will listen and I think I even converted a few people who didn't understand what they are about. This is not a buy here pay here people, they have tons of lenders willing to help those of us with credit issues and i honestly believe they truly care about the people.Mike Baker is the guy to talk to! I have no idea of how to explain my auto purchase from Car Smart, but having my previous automobile for 8 years the manual transmission decided to go out while I was rushing back to work on a Wednesday evening. Being in a rental car the following morning, I was thinking great I'm renting until I can figure out how to get another automobile. As I was driving to Platte County on a Friday afternoon I heard the commercial on 101 The Fox, I thought well it wouldn't hurt to stop and see what Car Smart has to offer. When I walked in, I met with Charles and briefly chatted about my needs, we then walked out on the lot and was shown a 2010 Dodge Caliber, which I instantly liked. As time was clicking by and the need to get to work, Charles, Ted and MIke worked wonders on the paperwork, I got the Caliber no money down, a great interest rate and Mike's suggestion of leaving the rental car in the lot and driving the Caliber to work that night all made this buying experience something beyond what I have experienced. I unfortunately experienced a problem with the A/C switch burning out within 10 days of getting the Caliber. I called Car Smart and was told I needed to speak with Gene at Wrench Smart, when I spoke with Gene I explained what had happened and that I had found the part at Landmark Dodge and there was only one in stock in KC, that I would install it if Car Smart paid for the part. Within 15 minutes, Gene called me back letting me know that part had been paid for and I could pick it up. I replaced the A/C cluster in 20 minutes. I really have to say Car Smart really has done more then any other auto dealer in earning my trust and business. I was in a pickle and Ted and Crew really helped me out. All I can say is a big THANK YOU!!!
I had been shopping for a newer, used car for weeks. I didn't find a car that I liked, at a price I could afford, and with a salesperson I could trust...until I went to Car Smart. I was impressed the moment I walked in. A small home theater room for my little brother to stay occupied while my mom and I spoke with the salesman, a masseuse on duty to give back massages, refreshments, a clean restroom, toys for little ones...they've thought of it all. The quotes on the walls were real, honest, and encouraging. You know you've found a trustworthy dealer when you come to Car Smart. Jay was my salesman. I was so incredibly impressed...very professional. They were super busy on the day I was there. Jay was handling 2 other couples with their purchase as well as myself. He balanced his time very fairly and was thorough with everything he did. I asked questions and got answers. No fooling around. Jay told me the truth and helped me so much.I will definitely be returning to Car Smart. My mother, who was with me that day, is now thinking about buying a newer, used car from Car Smart! I can't thank everyone enough at Rob Sight Ford for making my experience at acquiring my F-150 FX4 truck the best ever. My story begins almost 3 months ago when I was at the KC Auto Show. I was trying to decide between a RAM 1500 and the F-150. I was in the big Ford Display looking at a black F-150 and decided to ask the 1st salesman I could find to ask him some questions. As we were discussing trucks, I just happened to notice the name tag, and I had no idea I was talking to Bobby Sight of the Sight family. He was so patient with me answering all my questions that day and throughout the last 3 months until I finally decided the F-150 was for me. I bought two cars from Car Smart in 06 and I never had any problems with the car. The car was in excellent condition, this year i wanted a newer car. I went looking at other dealerships, and was turned down. Shortly afterwards I began to think about the fantastic salesmen and low mileage, high quality cars I had previously purchased from Car Smart. I went to the dealership where I was warmly greeted by a serviceman, who was so patient and helpful. That day; by the grace of God, I was able to find a newer, low mileage car; which was still under warranty. I am truly thankful to the sales and service personnel who helped me find the perfect car. I would recommend Car Smart to all my friends and family, the service was great; the cars are in excellent condition and I will definitely chose Car Smart again. The past few years have been very trying for me. I went three years without a job and had no money coming in after I went through my 401k money. I was in need of a newer car (I have driven my Ford Explorer for thirteen years). The time came for me to get my nerve up, set aside my pride and attempt getting a car.
