Memorial Park Cemetery

Not happy either...they do not keep up gravesites..my Mother and Son remains are there and I plan to be laid there also..going there today for balloon release in memory of my Son 10th Anniversary.

Sunset Gardens is not a good final resting place for anyone. My family has buried a at least 20 family members. And I had to search for at least 12 of them due to grass grown over the headstones. We were not looking at grass clippings, it was grass growing over the head stones. The fence that was once there has horrible weeds and dying bushes. I called the property manager Ronald Carter and was simply told that they cut every two weeks and use weed eater around headstones. Now if that is the case how does grass grow over the headstones. I regret I have family buried there...and would move all of them if I could!

This cemetery is suffering from neglect, which is well known in the funeral industry here in KC. All of the headstones have sunk and most are completely covered over with grass, weeds and leaves. Good luck finding a marker for your loved one if you don't know exactly where it is. If you look over a hillside, all you see is indentations where headstones are supposed to be. There is a beautiful historic entrance gate that had to be closed off and it is crumbling. Grave sites are dug and left standing open with no cover over the dirt or tent to protect the open grave. The funeral home we worked with has been unable to rouse anyone to answer the phone for several weeks so that a headstone can be set. I spoke with a gentleman at the office as he was leaving for the day and he could have cared less about my mom's headstone, saying simply that he knew nothing about it. If mom hadn't have already purchased her plot near her mother, she'd have been buried somewhere else.

Terrible cemetery no respect for the dead. Graves covered with overgrown grass and mud an inch thick under that. Manager not helpful just a good talker no results happen.

I've had family buried there for over twenty years and since it's been under new manegement, I'm pleased with the new roads and the up keep of the grounds. The staff is very curtious and helpfull. I'm disabled and I really am greatfull with the help i recieved. They worked within my budget when no one else would. I want to thank them for making the Cemetery look great, Including the new roads and getting all of my families headstones raised and leveled for me while I waited.I would recomend them to anyone.
