My mom has been there a little over a week, following a hospital surgery. This facility has terrible nursing practices, with long delays on routine care. We are seeing several hour delays on the delivery of requested pain meds. The staff has frequently pushed routine care off to the next shift, or to the next day. They are supposed to change the colostomy bag every 3 days, but the first round took 8 days. We are working to get her moved from this facility asap. Also, my average wait time for an inbound, main phone line, pickup has been 2:12 minutes of ringing.

This place killed my mother. Please do not put your family member in here. It needs to be shut down. The neglect and not knowing what in the hell they are doing is unbelievable. They kept telling me my mother did not have CDIFF infection when every nurse doctor that walked in her room and quarantined her like she did...told me she did not have it. My mother died from having this infection her body 2 weeks ago....she also came home and had 2 broken bones in her back. This is not over yet by any means but I have to let people know please do not let them to do one of your family members like they did my mom.

Overall

If you can find another place within a hundred miles.......go there!

KCTCC has a staff of two on a daily basis. This means that no one comes when called for a minimum of 20 minutes if at all. The CNA staff doesen't know the patients nor their requirements because the previous staff leaves no notes nor instructions. If you call to talk to a floor nurse, your call is likely to be dropped or just never answered. KCTCC is a new but filthy facility where your relatives can go to sit without care or concern from the staff.
