Exotic African Hair Braiding

I go to EAHB for all my braids. The styles always work well. The interior decor leaves something to be desired, and i've never been in the bathroom (on purpose). However, the hair braiders are very good! I had kinky twists, nubian twists, and senegalese twists. The quality is excellent, and they always make sure i know how to take care of my braids before I leave. Great shop for hair braiding, but not so pretty on the eyes.

I've been getting micros, individuals/box braids, and invisible braids for over 13 years now and have never had such a sloppy job done. I've used all kinds of hair and have been to many different african shops. I bought some really nice hair and got my hair braided on a Saturday. By Tuesday a total of 5 braids have come down and several more are on the verge. Not come out from scalp but just unraveled from being braided so sloppy. Some sections of my braids are fine....knots are tight like they are suposed to be. Inconsistant due to different braiders maybe? Now in their defense, they told me AS I WAS LEAVING THE SHOP....HAIR COMPLETED, to take care of my braids by spraying holding spray on it everyday (Never been told that) and explained that because the hair is silky the holding spray keeps them up. :/ But had they said something about the hair being too silky before they started, I would have rescheduled and got some different hair or gone somewhere else. Now I've been to some cold chicks that can braid any kind of hair and those damn knots wont budge. But these girls act like they had no clue how to work with 100% human hair!! I've gotten hair from them before but it's mixed and you can't do anything with it. Furthermore, the owner lied flat out. I asked if they knew how to do invisible braids and of course she said yes. And maybe they think us americans are oblivious to whats going on because we may not speak their language, but i knew she was coaching the girls on what invisible braids were. TISK TISK...just be honest. I even had to show one of the braiders on my phone what they were. Needless to say I am very unsatisfied. There was an African girl who came there with her mom as a customer and they told her they would take care of her and do her hair right because she was a "sister". Whats the difference, we're all paying you guys. SMH Gave it a chance because it was closer but I'll travel to timbucktu to get a better job done. Shape up girls...you need more practice :)

WARNING: RATCHET IS THE NAME FOR THIS PLACE OF BUSINESS...WHERE DO I START, THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING DOOR IS COVERED BY WOOD LIKE ITS CONDEMNED (1st WARNING). (2nd WARNING) THE FRONT OF THE BUSINESS SPACE IS UGH, WALKED IN AND ITS LIKE 10 CUSTOMERS ALREADY THERE GETTING BRAIDS. (3rd WARNING) NOT A GOOD SELECTION OF COLORS SO I WENT TO THE BACK AND LOOKED IN THE BOXES, OMG ITS SO TRASHY IN THAT AREA. RESTROOM WAS NOT CLEAN AND NO PAPERTOWELS AS WELL AS LIGHTS. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE TEMP THAT DAY WAS ABOUT IN THE 50'S WITH TEMP DROPPING AS THE DAY GOES ALONG. NO HEAT ON THE ENTIRE DAY SO ITS REALLY COLD IN THE PLACE AND CUSTOMERS ARE COMPLAINING ITS COLD AND THE OWNER SAID IM HOT AND DIDNT TURN ON ANY HEAT. (4th WARNING) WAITING FOR A BRAIDER AND WHAT DO I SEE ROACHES CRAWLING ALL OVER THE PLACE, NASTY....FINALLY A BRAIDER THE OWNER STARTED ON MY HEAD THEN STOPPED, ANOTHER BRAIDER STARTS THEN SHE STOPS AND ANOTHER BRAIDS MY HEAD. IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THIS THE OWNER WANT TO BE PAID BEFORE THE SERVICE IS DONE. I GOT DROPPED OFF AND MY HUSBAND WAS GOING TO PAY WHEN I WAS FINISHED BUT SHE KEPT ASKING ME COULD HE COME NOW DUE TO THE POLICY. I TOLD HER I DIDNT KNOW THE UPFRONT POLICY AND NEXT TIME SHE NEED TO LET PPL NO THAT BEFORE THEY COME IN. ANYWAY I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT NASTY NASTY PLACE THEY CALL A BUSINESS. FLIES, ROACHES, TRASHY, DIRTY MUST I GO ON.... BEWARE PPL... I WAS SO DISGUSTED TO HAVE A ROACH CRAWLING ON MY PURSE WHILE I WAS GETTING MY HAIR BRAIDED....UGH, I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE, THERE ARE MUCH BETTER PLACES TO GO WITH A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!

I had five different women on my head and the twist were all different sizes, one of the sections started yo unravel so I had to go back and get them retwisted. At that time the owners Fatu did them and cut my hair while trimming my sengalese twist because she was rushing. I would not recommend this place and it is not clean, the restroom area is horrible. Pay someone your money for better service.

They did a great job on my daughter kinky twists. The only issues I had with this shop was we sat outside for 45 min before someone came. I had an appt at 8am. Also they have roaches really bad. It got to the point I told my daughter I was going to sit in the car until she is done. We both had a few crawl on us.

I didnt have any problem with this place! I got micros 2 months ago and just called back to get twists. They even called me a day or so before to see if I could come earlier.

i had an appointment today at 8:30 , the braiding took only 5 hours for micro, i was well received. i had the option of 180 with hair or 200 with the hair, the price depend on how long and full one wishes has i was explain before i started. They were professional, the place was clean , for the amount of time i spent i haven't seen any roach or fly. they did a great job and i love my hair.i been going there for almost 8 years. I gave a high recommendation to my friends and family.

THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! they have roaches everywhere! i will admit that they braided my hair quickly...but this place is very unsanitary. my appt was at 8a...and they were 30 mins late! they quoted me $180 over the phone (that included the hair)...but when i was sitting in the chair they told me $200. needless to say i NEVER went back there...and i dont recommend that u do either unless u like being surrounded by roaches! AVOID THIS PLACE!

The service was very professional, and i was so happy about my micro braids that i couldn't help but hurry up and write a review.I found Exotic African Hair braiding from YP.com. The quality of work and professionalism really had me impressed compared to previous Hair Salon i went before. I give the highest recommendation.

i was really impressed by the level of professionalism and kindness of the owner.. she made me feel so comfortable. The micro braids was faster than what i usually get in other salons and all my friends told me it looks good on me. i am really satisfied, that was my first time at exotic African hair braiding, i left with a smile on my face.....i give it the highest recommendations

I absolutely LOVEEEEE Exotic African Hair Braiding!! I have been coming to these Beautiful ladies for 4 years now! Every visit gets better!!! The ladies are soo down to earth, so friendly, and very customer service oriented! It is a really good atmosphere for those who have children also. My experience with these ladies has been life changing, we have now become family :). I have recommended these ladies to all my friends and family.. and their experience has been as pleasant as mine. My hair styles last longer than I do..LOL!!! Most of the time i'm ready for a new style before my braids look like they are! The prices are soo reasonable and worth it!.The Place feels like home, they make the clients feel so comfortable, and in few occasion serving food and beverage and making sure the client is happy.The ladies are very patient, understanding, FUN, homely, and professional! DON”T GO HERE. I wasted over 5 hours and 2.5 packs of Beverly Johnson bulk hair here. The owner does not know how to do tree braids. I booked this appt two wks ago. I specially told her I want two layers for my tree braids. She told me that they can do it. To start off, she had one of her many workers to do my braids. The worker was nice but had no clue what she was doing. The owner, who told me they could do two layers, asked me about 10 times, you sure you want two layers. So I showed them a youtube clue of a braider who does her treebraids in three layers. The worker had my back looking like SPACE Jam. She had big bulky plats which were sticking out to the side. The owner even told her she did them wrong. Well, to make a long story short, it took the owner six times to get my head right. She a about seven big plats and you can see all of the braids and my scalp. The point of tree braids is to look like it’s your hair. And she had the audacity to tell me she was wasting her time when she’s the one that kept messing my hair up. I’ve been wearing tree braids over 4 yrs and it has never taken 5 hrs and 2.5 packs of micro hair; and Beverly Johnson micro hair is thick and full. I should have known they were shady because they make you pay upfront. Now I know why, because they do sloppy work and they still going to get paid. I saw them charge a lady $140 for a head of big plats. Morally of this story, never pay upfront, and run for the door if they asked you 10 times are you sure you want a style that they told you they can do.
