Like myself I shop value village weekly, sometimes daily only for resale purposes and personal gain. However, I see a lot of folks who are tickled to death to find nice cloths and somewhat nice products they would like to have but still can't quite afford the price. I've only asked twice for a price reduction on my many years of shopping and did get a framed picture that was badly damaged that's hanging on my wall now, grateful for the reduction. Today I see a guy who really wanted a nice vacuum that he wanted but still couldn't pay the $40 and couldnt get it reduced and it was nasty and the belt was broke. An to top it off an associate had to break the news on the denied reduction after returning from the back room where the manager was. The poor guy had to put it back and wouldn't even let me help him with the cost. I was so upset I yelled for the manager and only then he had a change of heart after me shamming him.

If this is a company that you think care about their customers or employees nothing could be farther from the truth. They treat customers as if they are a problem when u walk in the store. The management team could care less about the customers and even less about their employees. The let their management team talk to the employees like they are a piece of dirt on their shoes. Upper management is very aware of the way customers and employees get talked to and will straight up tell them both if u don't like it don't shop here and any manager can talk to an employee like dirt. They will tell u if u don't like it quit. That the upper management will never take an employee's side and definitely not a customer. Such a shame with the economy like it is that this is a place that I and several of my friends will not shop at and they really need to have an advocate for their employees.. So sad.

Very Rude Service, Messy store

Very rude employees. Recently my daughter made a purchase and cashier rung up wrong amount and would not refund the overage. The merchandise was not taken out of the store-she found the mistake while I was being checked out. The ""person in charge"" said they didn't give refunds, she would have to take it merchandise. When I tried to explain that it wasn't a refund, it was a mistake, she told me in a very rude voice, ""I'm not talking to you, this is between me and this lady"". She told me to stay out of it. This was very embarrassing to be talked to like this in front of other customers.
Also, they let children play with the toys, resulting in them being strewn all over the aisles, making it unsafe as well as difficult to go down these aisles. I believie they let their employees bring their children to work, and use the toy dept as a babysitter. The other VV stores are not this messy.
