This is the absolute worst management you could ever work for. No team environment exists period.. Management is no where to be found when needed, yet will yell at you if you converse with a fellow employee for even a minute. Owners dad is part of management. He is a Pastor on the weekend but cusses at his employees all week long. You can work your way up to highest seniority within two years because everyone either quits or is fired. Company is struggling right now. Read reviews from other sites, they all say the same thing. If company would let go of the foreman, they would not have the tremendous turnover that exists and is running them into the ground. I would be really surprised if they are even open for the next two years. The CEO is the only decent part of management.

0/5 if I could Management is the #1 problem with Beckan. The owner and VP are decent guys, but the floor manager Todd is the problem. Todd talks down to everyone, has no respect for anyone, and loves confrontation and conflict where he can use his position as leverage to power push people around to do things he wants. He is in a managerial roll yet he has 0 management skills nor is he a people person. He treats and talks to people like hes better than everyone and everything. His actions are proved through the extremely high turnover rate. During my short 2.5 months working there, myself and 5 others left Beckan, and 3 others were interviewing for other jobs. Todd loves micromanaging all day telling people to "get that machine running" "thats a dollar a minute you're wasting" Walking from the punch clock after waiting in line to punch in, I get to my lathe only to hear Todd, "its now 6:02 why isn't this machine running? do you still want your job?" There is so much micromanaging that talking on the floor is forbidden. Better not have a smile on your face or ask a coworker to help with something, Todd will be right around the corner to end that. I was getting fed up with the micromanaging, so when Todd came over to tell me to do things his way, because its his way or the highway, and not the way I was doing them, I asked Todd what he had been doing all day. Of course that didn't sit well with him so he proceeded to get in my face and ask my why I was questioning his authority, 5 mins later pulls me in the VP's office threatening my job. In fact, the ONLY nice/positive thing that was ever said to me my entire time working there was "Thanks" from the owner when he hands me a check each week. Walk into the break-room at Beckan and look at the monthly production numbers to get an idea of how the business is doing. Every month that passes, the number drops closer and closer to the red line. They told us in the monthly meeting they were "Taking on loads and loads of new work" yet when the weekend comes for people to be working OT, they select a few people who will be working and you only find out if you're working the weekend a day before. The building is ran down and looks abandoned from the outside. The ceilings leak, the ceiling in QC is caving in. Temperature never rises above 50-55. All of the machines leak oil pretty bad, but instead of fixing the leak, they seem to think putting oil spill/kitty litter on it will remedy the problem lol. They have the machines, they have the work orders but they cant seem to hit the production numbers they want. They cant hit production numbers because they cant keep a solid crew of more than 8 people at a time. Todd treats all the production guys so poorly everyone quits because they cant stand working there. As sad as it sounds, I was actually extremely happy leaving Beckan and questioned myself why I even bothered staying there as long as I did. Wont ever go back, wont recommend them to anyone, and will spread the word to other machinists to avoid Beckan Dump at all costs. I cant see them staying in business for more than another year tops, if that.
