My experience with Kalamazoo Mortgage was not a good one. When we got close to the closing I had to sign off on a disclosure. Things did not seem right, the disclosure actually expired before the closing. Was it simply a clerical error or was I in a position of vulnerability where the terms of the note could be different at closing. Phone calls and emails to different people went un answered. I was unsure of what was going on. At the beginning of the process I had to sign a statement promising to respond to any inquiries quickly. I did not understand why no one would respond to me, even to say “hey we got your message and someone will get back to you soon”. From my perspective I had not secured a note and there was not enough time to secure a mortgage from another source before the closing date. I get a call only after threatening to complain to the Mi Dept of Insurance and Financial Services, BBB… It sounds like Brian is driving and he doesn’t have my file. I offer to talk later that day or even the next day to give him a chance to review my file. Nope he can talk now what are my questions? It is soon apparent that we need to talk after he has had a chance to review my file. No kidding. Brian would have been much better off calling and saying “sorry about the delay getting back to you, can I call you tomorrow after I catch up on your particulars?” Kalamazoo Mortgage takeaways should be:•If you create a sense of urgency in the process by making me sign a promise to respond quickly I expect the same from you.•Answer communications even if just to acknowledge receipt of the message. •When a customer has specific questions do not have an unprepared sales person call them to try and “handle it”. That’s insulting.
Terrible customer service. They used to be easy to do business with but not anymore. The phone bank system is horrible. They need to get back to the personal service that they had previously.
Stay far away...I would not recommend. There communication skills are poor and they are extremly disorganized. I had 3-4 people calling me asking me for paperwork that was already received by another member for months. It got so out of control I spoke with a manager and had to request I have one point of contact..he actually told me they were working on professional etiquette with their employees! ! They werent professional via email or phone. Unfortunately we were financing a build so we had to deal with them for 7-8 months. By the time I was fed up we were too far in to start over with another company. Days before closing I couldn't get ahold of anyone to schedule a time...multiple emails and phone calls later I found out they had to do another appraisal and it came in low...they left me in the dark about it for a week!! They made our building experience horrible!!! There was so much more...but this is getting long and I think Im getting my point across
So disappointing and frustrating and quite frankly a very very poor customer experience. Just purchased a new vehicle and financed at the dealership thru Advia. I know it's getting close to when my payment is due, and I haven't gotten any sort of communication in the mail from Advia on my loan number, account number, how to make payments etc. And I can't sign up for online access because you need the account number, the same one I don't have because I never received any correspondence from the company. Finally get a hold of someone on the phone, and they can't give me my account number over the phone. It's almost as if the company doesn't want me to pay the bill. This is 2016, we can do much better on customer experiences than this. Extremely poor service, the worst customer experience, if you're financing a vehicle and the dealership says Advia, ask for something different, even if the rare is a bit higher. Absolutely horrible!!!!! Never again.
We have a car loan with Advia. They offer NO way to pay the loan from our bank other than a check....or on the phone, which they charge $10 for. What a racket. In this day and age, what Credit Union does that? NEVER AGAIN......
Horrible online/telephone service. Have been trying to pay on vehicle loan for way too long, and it seems like they dont want to take my money. Im now late on my payment because I work during branch open hours and they refuse to take my money over the phone... and the server times out every time I try to set up my account online. Just horrible.
Would be better if there were a way to shut down debit cards. I have searched for 45+ minutes for some where to do this I lost my card and want to shirt it down before anyone greys ahold of it but apparently we have to wait til they are open which is crap..... other banks have this convenient option why don't you, I don't want to pay a fee for fraudulent activity of I don't have to and not having this option opens the door to more fraud. Kind of disappointing of you ask me!!!!
Advia, is not what it used to be. I have been very angry with their online banking and I agree with Sara J, that the online banking transactions are very confusing and I think geared towards confusing customers so that the Credit Union reaps the rewards. The new policy of refunding 1 default is also strange when what I view on my online banking statement is not the same that they view. I wonder why this is?
Advia I'm not impressed. Really angry to say the least. The online statements are never up to date, My online banking transactions had terrible calculations in a confusing as heck order. Would get courtesy fees EVEN when I still had lots of money in my available balance. They don't refund you more than 3 times EVEN if it was their fault. And to think I just opened a business account for my small business here... Very poor business choice on my part. Small businesses can't afford to keep their money in this greedy bank. Closing my personal account AND my business account as soon as possible. Have fun with my money, Advia. If I didn't need a debit card I'd be glad to keep all of my cash in my own locked safe rather than keep it in your "care." How hard is it to take care of someone else's money and keep them up to date? Not that hard. Thanks. If I could give zero stars, I would. Unfortunately to leave a review there has to be at least one.
I've been a member for several years. Great people, great business! Show me a bank that is open until 3pm on a Sunday!I understand that reviews are always subjective and are not true for everyone else. The reviews below have never happened to me, but It's important to take a deep breath before concluding that the entire credit union is crappy and greedy. Your one, bad experience should not negate all the good experiences members encounter everyday.
