The company is a regional corporation formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971, a land claims settlement with Alaska Natives that include American Indians, Aleuts and Eskimos living in Alaska. Sealaska s assets are derived from the aboriginal lands of Tlingit and Haida Indians of Southeast Alaska. The company is headquartered in Juneau, Ala.
