Countryside Animal Clinic is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care.
Vaccination
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet in our waiting room. We require that all animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.
Behavioral Counseling

Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
Comprehensive Examination
Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past. Here at Countryside Animal Clinic, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet. The handout on anesthesia explains this in greater detail.

Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.
Pain Management
Anything that causes pain in people can be expected to cause pain in animals. Pets may not show the same symptoms of pain as people do; they usually don't whine or cry, but you can be sure they feel it. Pain medications needed will depend on the surgery performed. Major procedures require more pain relief than things like minor lacerations.

Our fully equipped surgical suite has a window overlooking the treatment area. Anesthetic monitoring equipment includes ECG, pulse-oximetry and non-invasive blood pressure.

Wound and Fracture Care

Dental Surgery
Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. In addition, we now have a state-of-the-art digital dental x-ray unit. With it we can evaluate your pet's teeth -- crown, root and surrounding tissues -- to help us assess what dental treatment plan to pursue. Just like your dentist does when he evaluates your teeth!
Veterinary Surgery
OR is a full service companion animal hospital. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime.
Spaying and Neutering
Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately 5-6 months of age. Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help determine whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure. Current vaccinations are required at the time of surgery. Depending on your pet's age and medical conditions, a pre-anesthetic blood screen may be recommended prior to undergoing anesthesia and surgery.

Laboratory Services
We offer different levels of blood testing before surgery, which we will go over with you when you bring your pet in. Our doctors prefer the more comprehensive screen, because it gives them the most information to ensure the safety of your pet. For geriatric or ill pets, additional blood tests, electrocardiograms, or x-rays may be required before surgery as well.
