Worst gym in the area. And I'm saying this with some authority because I have had memberships with the YMCA, anytime fitness, and the powerhouse. First the atmosphere of the gym is dark with poor lighting and dark blue walls. Second the customer service of this gym is severely lacking. After, checking out this gym my wife and I decided to get a membership because of several classes that she was excited about attending. After two weeks of the classes "not making" we decided to cancel our membership because we were lied to. One problem. The website they pay to service their memberships never answers the phone. Tatum the owner manager pretends like she has no control over national fitness(the website). And they basically hold her gym members hostage. She also never returns phone calls and when you can get her on the phone she is extremely rude and won't let you talk. I have been trying to cancel my membership for three months and no one will call me back or take care of this problem. I give it six months and there won't be a powerhouse gym. Tatum is a liar and crook. Do not trust them do not sign the contract!
I first joined this gym when it opened, and the owners go out of their way to learn your name and help you in any way they can. They do a walk through with you and show you how to use all the equipment. There are plenty of treadmills and other cardio equipment, so you never have to wait, and you do not have a time limit on anything. It is a comfortable temperature with top notch locker room facilities. The two things I looked for were no intimidation factor and daycare. There are people from all ages and sizes that work out here, so it is not a bunch of "hard bodies" that make you feel out of place. I think that is one thing that is leaking out to the public, because there are a lot of over 50's and "real size" people in here. They have television monitors above all the computer equipment with several different channels, so you can watch it while working out (just bring headphones). They have free weights and a HUGE circuit training area, so you never have to wait long to get on a machine there either. The daycare is WONDERFUL and my little girl cries when we leave. It is open long hours into the evening, so for working mom's it is great. They also take all ages from infant on up. It is in an area with a glass window also, so you can peek in and see how your kids are doing. Their entire staff is very friendly and always eager to help. I had 2 training sessions with the owner, and he made me feel really comfortable! I would not hesitate to recommend it. They have free passes, so try it out and see what you think!
