If you just want a bank that will take deposits and checks, Simmons-Joplin might be ok. But if you want a bank that will communicate with you when there is a problem or be proactive and explain things rather than just dismiss any problem you might be having with a response like " Not my job" then Simmons is not for you. I am so glad to be done with these people even though it cost me money that I don't feel I should have had to pay just so I never have to deal with them again. I am very happy at my new bank here in Joplin as they take the time to talk to you and will actually notify you if there is a problem.
Every one in this building was wonderful, Except this lady Alisha was a real character let me tell you, Probably the most stuck up person I've ever met, didn't help me with a damn thing made me figure everything out on my own, very rude actually she was a full blown bitch

Ive had a checking account with them for 2 years. 1 year ago I was opted out of overdraft protection when using my debit card. This insured there would be minmum overdraft fees applied to my account. It worked great, and if i didnt have the money in my account my card would be declined. Recently I viewed my account online and noticed 6 overdraft fees within two days. I reached out to two different branches to get clarifying information as to how all of a sudden my debit card was allowing me to overdraft. They did not provide an answer and when I suggested the fees be waived they denied any wrong doing on their part. I have never complained about the service i have recieved from them until now. I have a block on my debit card from being able to overdraft for a reason and for there to be not one but six overdrafts on my account is unexceptable. I will be looking into reporting the issue.

Stay away!!This office is very unprofessional. They don't return phone calls after 4 were left in a two week period...this includes the owner.Then they will hang up on you if you protest, or if you express displeasure or frustration with this.Worse yet, they will turn it around and make YOU out to be the problem, rather than accepting responsibility.With my credit score over 800, I don't need to beg for someone to call me back, nor treat me in this manner.I'm quite glad that I found out BEFORE I signed up with these clowns, because, if this is they way that they do business, it is much better to find out BEFORE the fact, rather than be stuck with them.They don't DESERVE my business; I suggest you go elsewhere if you are looking for your mortgage to be handled in a professional manner.
