I sure am glad that this guy let me know that I didn't know what I was doing. Since I'm so clueless I almost spent my hard earned money there. If you want to shop here just make sure that this guy knows you're and expert. Or be certain that you enjoy being treated like an idiot.
Well ,,, our story started back in April of this year. My 9 year old son and I was playing catch in the back yard ,,, and I noticed he had a strange look on his face,, his gaze was off and one eye was facing inward a little bit. I called my wife who is a registered nurse and told her I was going to take him to the ER and have them do a ct and see what was going on. We get to the hospital and after a very poor examination the doctor said no need for a ct,,, he just had lazy eye and we need to see an eye doctor. Two days later we find ourselves at the eye doctors office,, the doctor walked in and in less then three minutes he told me " you need to get him to st Frances in Tulsa ASAP there's something going on". So I call my wife ,, drop our 6 year old daughter off at her grandmas house and we head to Tulsa . When we get to Tulsa they immediately take Tyler back for a ct. after a while they bring him back to the room. By this time he is crying,, tired,,, wanting to go home. About that time 4 nurses walk into the room and tell us the Docter would like to see us in the hallway. We walk out to the doctor crying then in an instant our whole world changed. The doctor told us that our precious little boy had DIPG an inoperable brain cancer that would probably take his life in probably 6 months to a year!!!! That there was nothing they could do to save him!!. Well I will hurt up and get to my review about Brandon's ,, over the last several months our family had been traveling to st Jude in Memphis and New York City trying to save our sons life,, we unfortunately have met other families who are in the same boat as our family,, one of the families got a hold of us and told us that a local sporting good store donated a gun to raffle off to help them raise money for their family so I immediately thought of Brandon's. So we call and Before we could get a full sentence out he very rudely let us know that he was not interested,, and besides he had a room full of customers!!
I moved to Joplin 3 years ago and have been to every local gun store within 60 miles and Brandon's is the best- Brandon and Kelly always help me above and beyond what I expect, always have funny stories, and are straight shooters- never pushing a sale based on price, but what best suits me as the customer. If you enjoy witty and sarcastic jokes and have a sense of humor, no pushy or snobby salesman, and can get a cup of coffee and talk shop...go to Brandon's. Sometimes you wanna go, where everybody knows your name... FYI: just bought 22LR cheaper than Academy.
For the last 20 years or longer I would buy a brick of 22 a month from Brandon's but 22 ammo as of the last couple years has been getting sparse. So I was searching online to find out if it was possible today at least in Joplin to find a case of it to put back. I shoot a lot of varmints and would rather just have a large supply. One of the hits I got was the guys comment below about Brandon's Gun Trading Co being “Gougers and Ripoffs”. I just want to say as of late Brandon's supply of 22 is lower than I have seen in years but unless you’re buying the match grade 22, his regular stuff has never cost me or any of my friends any more than 2 bucks a box and isn't that what it should cost? I have seen them sell a brick for 20 bucks but they usually restrict that to people buying a gun. I was told when the supply flow starts running that people will be able to buy what they want again. But anyway I have bought 32 guns in the last 20 years and have purchased them all at Brandon's but one. I got that one from Academy when they had that Taurus 9mm for $299.00 and just couldn't pass it up. But now I have to tell on myself, if I had waited for about a month I could have bought it new from Kelly at Brandon's for $288.00. Patience Grasshopper...
Would never do business with place again. Brandon will talk down to you like you are an idiot. If you go to buy .22 ammo from him bring your first born because his ammo is gold!
I have been shopping at Brandons for about 15 years. Always a good experience. Always friendly and helpful. Prices can't be beat. And they can order it if they dont have it in stock. I'm going in again today to buy another gun from them.
Can't say enough about the wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable service you receive from Brandon and his employees. Hands down the best place to purchase a firearm, and they always give honest, unbiased advice.
