Tcf Bank closed over 33 of there Branches and didn,t inform there Current Customers which ones were still in the ,Jewel/Osco Branches, I went to Literally 4 Branches in the Joilet, Illinois, Shorewood, and Plainfield,IL, And Was Told all the Branches had Moved out and Have Wrong Addresses to other Tcf Jewel / Osco Branches that were all Gone & Had Moved, this Bank has gone down Hill, The System had charge my Checking Acct × 3 at $37 each, which Didn't allow me to Transfer from Another Acct. When I attempted at 10:30pm and The Rep told me she can only Give me $15 back into my Acct I was so Upset because All the Charges were in One day, Really Seriously think about Going to another Bank Called Chase, or U.S. Banks where there Atm,s take Cash and Check Deposits NOT TCF very Unhappy Customer.
This review is not specifically for the branch on Jefferson St in Joliet, IL but more for TCF as a whole - as in a whole lotta waste! I have been a customer since 1999, and in 2005 TCF processed a transaction that severely depleted my account. The transaction was an error from my credit union who was only cashing a $100 check that I sent to them for my account. TCF processed my check and the large transaction that followed due to an error from the credit unit I do business with. I brought all of the necessary supporting documents to the Jefferson St. branch where i opened the account, but they told me that the Credit Union would have to put through a reversal. I argued with them for 3 days before I gave up on them. TCF did not want to do anything to try to help. My contact at the Credit Union offered to send me a check for the amount, which I gratefully accepted. I HIGHLY recommend opening an account with any other bank but TCF.
Called number twice an nobody answered the phone.
