Established in 1949, Catholic Charities Diocese of Joliet offers various programs and services and operates under the direction of the Chicago Archdiocese. It is a diocesan agency and maintains close contact with the bishop of Joliet. It offers various community services, such as homelessness prevention, emergency housing, food, supportive services and case management, transitional housing, refugee resettlement and permanent supportive housing programs and a Hispanic ministry. It also provides outpatient counseling to the communities of DuPage, Will, Grundy, Kendall, Kankakee, Ford and Iroquois in Illinois. It also offers foster grandparent, retired and senior volunteer, money management, information and assistance, senior companion and elder abuse and neglect programs. It additionally provides various childhood and early childhood programs. The agency is located in Joliet, Ill.
