This review is in regards to the particular Wine & Spirit Store located on Bedford Street/Geistown.As of yesterday, I would've given this particular branch 5 stars. The staff is (TYPICALLY) very friendly, and a PA-state store is a PA-state store, right? Nothin' is really different from one location to the next anyway....However, this evening - my husband - just getting off work (at 8:55 PM) -- right nearby -- rushed like a maniac to the closest state store so we could buy booze for a party tomorrow (...knowing only one state store in the area is open on Sundays, and he will be at work before they open at noon -- til after they close, at 5; again, because it is a Sunday.) The closest one happened to be THIS location, unfortunately for US.Anyway, as he was seriously running to the door at 8:59-9:00 PM, he made eye contact with the woman working ... right as she locked the door on him, then promptly shut off the lights. He was literally RUSHING to the door as she did this ... and she knew it. She was making a point, and a self-serving, discourteous, and tactless point, at that.Yeah, ok, Lady ... we get it ... you wanna go home, and don't wanna deal with ppl rollin' in 30 seconds before you're to close for the evening. We don't blame you.BUT. As this as our ONLY option?? And it being the "holiday season" after all (e.g. 2 days after Christmas)?? I mean, c'mon... you know you're closed tomorrow. You know options are limited in this case.... and we certainly have given your branch -- and the others -- great business over the years...............He knew EXACTLY what we needed, he would've been in AND back outta there in less than 30 seconds, no exaggeration. And though she didn't necessarily KNOW that, she never even gave the chance. So, ultimately, what she did was rude. I guess that's the crap you can get away with, though, when you're state-run and not personally owned. So whatever, I guess ...... do what you want, we'll be back to this "business," because we have NO OTHER OPTIONS ... but shame on you. Shame on you for sucking. What this employee did was extremely impolite, and had she given us a mere 30 extra seconds of her time ... you'd be getting 5 stars instead of 1 right now. One simple little gesture can go a long way with folks around here. Geez.
The address is not right on here its 1746 Lyter Dr. Johnstown PA 15906 but we're moving to 400 Broad St. Johnstown PA
I have read the other reviews to this point, and understand the frustration, as I also ordered something from Dave Zeigler that I never received. In his defense, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and has since passed on.I don't know if the tumor caused problems with his memory or not, but I'm sure it was possible. The store is now owned, to my knowledge, by John Bradley, who was Ziggy's partner. I don't know if the ordering has improved, but I do know that if you need hockey equipment in a pinch, Ziggy's probably has it in stock.Mike Rice
