Gifted permanent makeup artist. Very reasonably priced! I have gone to another on Main Street in Kingsport and the work that Carol does is both professional and well beautifully done. She is a perfectionist and worked on my brows for a good hour trying to undo and correct what had been done six months previously and it cost me a third of what the other skin care clinic charged.

My daughter took me there for my bachelorette night out, she was my maid of honor. We then took my husband there a few years later, an had a great time. An that is not his place of choice to go, but he did have a nice time, an said he would go back..
This is hands down the best hair salon I've ever used. Chelsea Woodacre is my stylist and she is the best. She has magic fingers.
I am so pleased . They really done a great job on my hair. They fixed someone's mess.Would highly recommend them. I will be back.

BEST place and people in the business. Personal service, great atmosphere for the mature individuals. Local small business owners.
This guy came highly recommended, but Tim was extremely full of himself, and downright Rude. Not only to customers, but even the poor delivery guy. One of the Rudest self-absorbed jerks I have seen in Salons/spas. And I have been in many over the years, with my friends and family. My closest friends and I love to change hairstyles and try the latest products. I would not recommend his services.
I recently went to Salon Hip for a color service & haircut. The results were FABULOUS! The stylists were all wonderful... very friendly but professional at the same time. One of the best salon visits I have experienced. My stylist, Brooke, was knowledgeable & really listened to my wants & needs. I will most definitely be going back!!! Thanks salon hip!
These sweet, experienced women cut and style my hair just the way I want it for an even more amazing price. They remember their clients and feel like good friends every visit. It's the only place I let dye my hair too because they know exactly what I want and what looks best!
I visited the Salon Hip on 7/24/12 for a haircut and highlight treatment. When I entered the salon as a walk in, a person by the name of Jewel said she would cut and color my hair. I picked out three different colors to go on top of the base color. Jewel began by painting a lighter brown base color all over. That solution was left on from 3:30-4:35 p.m. when it should only have been on for 45 minutes. I was told by Jewel that she could not understand why the base color did not take. She then added more solution to the ends of my hair. At that time Jewel said she didn't have the colors I had picked out, that she did have organic colors but she was uncomfortable using them. So instead of purchasing the correct color, she decided that due to the fact the owner was not present she did not want to get in trouble for buying the colors that I had picked but would instead mix up her own concoction. Jewel proceeded then to do foils. At that time another customer entered the salon for a "redo" which interrupted my service and I was left sitting the whole time this other customer was getting the "redo." The foils were not the colors I picked from the color book. My hair was too dark and not at all what I had picked out. The salon did have the organic colors I wanted I do believe, but the stylist said she was too inexperienced to use them and was perhaps afraid of the result. After the poor color experience we now move on to the cut. I explained my hair is heavy in volume and needs thinning and texturizing to be wispy. Jewel first dried my hair before cutting. I asked "Why are you drying my hair?" Jewel responded "You wanted wispy; I had to dry it first." I explained that my hair was not thinned out at all. Jewel commented that if she had texturized my hair, that I would have lumps in it. I stated I did not want lumps in my hair! My hair looked like it was a chopped-up block of chewed-up unblended hair resembling a bowl cut. My bangs were left hanging in the front. 1.5 inches was cut off straight at the bottom. Jewel didn't know what she was doing and was totally incompetent. She stated that she worked for WalMart before the Hip Salon and that she was OCD. I finally left the salon at 7:30 p.m. (five hours later from when I first entered!) which, in itself, is totally unacceptable. I called said salon when I returned home that evening stressed-out and distressed and left a voicemail. I got a call back from the salon the next day, 7/25, and was told that the salon did not give refunds. I said I needed to talk to the salon's owner because I needed a full refund in order to get my hair done elsewhere. I was told the owner was not available (vacationing in the Florida Keys) and that his phone didn't work because he was out of the area. The stylist stated "I'm a Christian woman. Are you discriminating against me?" I asked "What has that got to do with it?" At that point the salon told me I needed to go elsewhere and hung up the phone. Fast-forward a couple of days. Got a call from salon owner, Dave, stating they would redo my hair and that he had a designer stylist available. I decided to give him a try. A total disaster! That stylist admitted that my hair had indeed been totally messed up and that I would need to let my layers would have to grow back in before it could be corrected. They ended up telling me to leave the salon and would not redo the color. Furthermore, they yelled at me and stated they were going to sue me for slander as I was leaving! This is a very very unprofessional salon and I would urge anyone to avoid this nightmare of a salon. DO NOT GO THERE! I said I have freedom of speech and can lodge a Yelp complaint if I so choose to.
