Dreamers Lodge Motel
John Day OR
"We stayed at the height of summer (July 2009) and got way more than we expected for the price. While it is an older motel and somewhat dated, it is immaculately clean, with no odors of pets (although they are welcomed) and no odors of deodorizer used to cover the smell of pets and/or smoking. We were also pleasantly surprised at the amenities we found, that you'd normally expect in higher-priced lodging: an ironing board and iron, a hairdryer, a small refridge, a microwave, and very large fluffy bath sheets as well as all the usual bath towels. There was a local daily paper in our room, and the bed was very comfortable, with two nice arm chairs and a table in the room for TV viewing. The motel is off the main drag, so much quieter than on Main, and there is access through the fence to a very nice eatery. Altogether a very pleasant stay, and we'll certainly use it again. Kam Wah Chung State Heritage Site (our reason for visiting) is excellent, and the fossil beds are awesome, too. "
