        Our mission at Wayne Family Practice is to provide our family of patients with compassionate and competent medical care that seeks to preserve health and prevent disease. We strive to maintain a Christian environment of physicians, nurses and staff, dedicated to a partnership of healthcare with our community of patients. We want to create a medical home for our family; based on Spirit, structure and science. This medical home will be the starting point for both health and illness and will accomplish our mission of healthcare.
        Business History
        Wayne Family Practice was founded by Dr. Ollie O. McGahee in 1975. Two years later he recruited and was joined by three young physicians, just out of residency, from the Medical College of Georgia. This group association in family medicine, especially with three new physicians with a senior partner, was unheard of in organized medicine at that time. Dr. McGahee received national attention for his inspiration as a pioneer by forming a group practice and thus provided Wayne County with its first medical home — Wayne Family Practice. Dr. Elliott has recently retired and Dr. Phillips remains as our Senior Partner. The family physicians are trained to treat over 97% of complaints and conditions that present to them and they treat patients of all ages. A family physician’s focus is on the outpatient prevention of disease via physical exam and diagnostics or “Wellness Medicine.” The physicians at Wayne Family Practice hold a cumulative of over 75 years experie

        We at WFP are not only interested in treating your illness, but we want to prevent diseases and keep you healthy. We provide complete diagnostic services and health maintenance evaluations, including all types of physical exams. We care for and treat individuals and families of all ages; from newborns in the hospital to seniors who continue their care in long term care facilities. We are currently providing influenza vaccine We administer allergy injections and all adult vaccinations including pneumonia and influenza vaccines. We have a certified in-house laboratory that can provide results during your visit that can be discussed with your physician, saving you time and additional office visits. We perform digital radiography that has state-of-the-art resolution and the conveniences of electronic sharing with other providers.

        I started seeing Dr. Ollie McGahee in 1968 with my first pregnancy and have continued with Wayne Family Practice until the present. They have always been excellent with my care, very professional and quick to refer me to other specialists when a problem occurred. Would recommend them highly.
