Located in Jasper, Ala., North West Alabama Mental Health Center provides residential, community-based services, access to services and houses administrative offices. Founded in 1969, the medical center provides training and education to enable adults with schizophrenia and mood disorder to function more independently in the community. North West Alabama Mental Health Center provides various children s services, such as family safety, outpatient and school-based services. Its school-based services include on-site school psychoeducational groups, including collaborative work with school personnel and family. Additionally, North West Alabama Mental Health Center provides individual and family therapies in the home, school and community setting for mental health and substance abuse problems.
