Mice in the walls. Mice droppings in the cupboard under sink. Kitchenet with no cookware, plates or utensils. Crickets, beetles, spiders all over the room. Spiders and their eggs in the shower curtain rod. Sign posted in room advising not to drink the contaminated water. Used soap in the shower from previous occupant. Mini blinds full of dust and dirt. Woke up every half hour to Lonnie (manager) knocking on my door. Apparently he forgot to tell me to pay a key deposit and that I needed to pay it ASAP because "Brian" was "flaggin" him. I write out a check for $50 and ask if I will get it back upon returning the keys. Lonnie responds with a yes. At checkout, I catch Lonnie as he's getting into a red truck with some other guy. I handed him the keys and asked about the deposit. Lonnie the stated " we will forward it to you...no, you can come back in the morning when Brian is here. So I put the keys back in the room as Lonnie told me to do. I call the next morning and some woman answers. I ask her about my deposit and she stated that they would forward it to me. I then explained to her that I was told from Lonnie that I would get my deposit back upon returning the keys. Her unprofessional response was "well, we don't do that here and Lonnie doesn't work here anymore...he quit" So then I call the owner Jim Heyden. I get nowhere with him! He tells me to call my bank on Monday to see if the check was cashed. Really?! So I call my bank and of course the check was cashed! I then call the hotel. Brian then tells me that I won't be getting my deposit back because the room was "trashed". My jaw was on the floor. I ask him how the room was trashed and he states "there were dirty towels on the floor in a corner, the bed wasn't made and a pillow was missing...it was trashed!" I then angrily ask him if I was supposed to take the dirty towels to the laundromat and bring the clean towels back at checkout?! Brian responded with a Yes. He then stated "your not gettin your deposit back...bye!" That was great customer service! And who in their right mind would want to steal a dirty, used motel pillow?! There was one pillow when I got there and one when I left. And why would I make an already slept in bed at checkout when the bedding is supposed to be stripped and washed before the next occupant checks in!
