I own 4 houses and rent them all out. I have 3 property managers that work for me and this company is by far the worst. My tennents were never happy. I was never happy. repairs took to much time to get done and this company never communicated. My house was completely trashed when I returned to Jacksonville. And it cost me 3 thousand dollars out of my pocket. I'm in the process of hiring a lawyer. If you want to get ripped off or spend a lot of time in court hire this company. I would highly recommend working with another company. They have no respect for military as well.
I would give zero stars if I could. We're homeowners. It was our first time renting out our home, so we were inexperienced in the process. They did find us tenants fairly quickly. The first set of tenants were great, however, the property management team were beyond incompetent. It took them 8 days to send someone out to repair the AC unit. 8 DAYS!! Unacceptable! Apparently, this was the norm for them. The second set of tenants were worthless and so was this company. The tenants were consistently late with payment and these guys couldn't care less. We were living elsewhere so we were still responsible for the mortgage and our rent in the other location. Each month this occurred, we would call and ask what was the issue and they always made excuses. We were told that they couldn't contact the tenant's employer in regards to payments. I asked if they even knew if the tenants were employed. They didn't know. My husband did some investigating and contacted the tenants command and informed them of the ongoing problem. 7 months of late rent and all it took was a 2 minute phone call FROM US and direct deposit was started. When the tenants moved out in February, we received $100 for the month of January. That's it. And all. The cherry on top is that we moved back in yesterday and the house is a disaster. Trash all over the yard, dead cockroaches inside the home. The floors were filthy as well as the walls. The refrigerator was not cleaned and is stinky. The whole house was in disarray. Pretty sure they never came to do a final inspection. DO NOT use this company. They are lazy, unprofessional and should not even be in business.

The management then called us to let us know it needed repairs. No problem. It took the team 8 days to respond to our poor tenants. Unacceptable! This seemed to be common throughout the first lease. Then the 2nd set of tenants moved in. They were always late with rent and when we would call this company, they would CONSTANTLY make excuses. We asked them to contact the tenants and have them set up direct deposit. They never did. Finally, my husband contacted the tenants command and made them get it set up. Oh, and we could never get a straight answer on what condition our home was in. The tenants vacated the property in February. Since we knew we were moving back, we didn't seek new tenants, however, we kept them as the managers. We got here yesterday and walked into a disaster area. They let those tenants move out without cleaning the place. There were dead bugs all over and the floors were filthy. The refrigerator was disgusting and stinky. The air filter for the AC unit is caked in dust. There was trash all across the yard. Granted no one was living here for a few months, but I'm 100 percent positive this mess was never cleaned. Please please please use someone else. Incompetent doesn't even begin to describe this company. Go with a different property management company!
Terrible company, terrible people, unprofessional, lazy, self contradicting and border line criminal, rented for a year, moved across country, was given a quote for damages our dog did, alright understood no problem, we we're sent an email with billing and a promise of a check with the remaining of our deposit, we called a month later and was told the check was sent and that the US mail was running slow... OK... few weeks later still no check, we called every week asking where our money was and everytime we we're told they would look into it and to expect a call back, this went on for another few weeks, we finally called and talked to the property manager supervisor thinking there was still honor in the bones of men, the supervisor said he would call us back....no call, called them back demanding information and the rest of our deposit, the supervisor rob had no leadership traits and professional courtesy, he instead claimed that we owed him money, I asked for a new billing statement (which we never received) and began to ask why we we're given a different quote earlier, why his staff never followed up on their promises, why WE had to do THEIR job and track this down and why all of a sudden we owe them money and we weren't even notified... sorry but my life experience is calling utter complete BS. Do not rent or buy from this place they are irresponsible and portrayed the business capacity of a monkey with symbols, they are corrupt and will sweep anything under the rug to make or keep money
Marines and Sailors DoD Cilvilians and Family! Hometown Realtors is not who you want to spend your money on. We rented a home doe almost 3 years and wished we would have never rented from them. So many things wrong with the home and they claim the home owners do not want to fix it. So many things to wirte on this review, If you want your own experience just go by thier office and see the attitude you get from everyone. Try somwhere else please ABA Rentals, Century 21 would not recommend this to any of my fellow Marines. Hope this helps
They will not work with you at all if you are going through some rough times. Nor do they take care of the property you are renting.. take heed ppl stay away.
Michael Matthews is the only reason Century 21 should get anything other then a zero star rating. He is vary knowledgeable when it comes to customer service, repairs that are reqired by law to be made, and repairs that should be repaired due to principal (customer servive). There were issues such as the upstairs bedrooms not being properly cooled/heated and plumbing issues that were not evident until after my lease was signed and I had water and electronic returned to the property in question. Deara Cook should be avoided at all cost when dealing with property management. She will speak her opion as if it is law.If your not familiar with North Carolina laws/ Onslow county's minimal reeqirements, you will leave their office without them tending to what they are required to resolve. Nor will you make a written request. DARA COOK will make you believe that it is not a requirement, and converse with you as if your an idiot who is wasting her precious time. Dara cook is extremely sarcastic and will cut you off in mid-sentance. This rental agency should be held accountable for their temper and lack of service. Go threw antother agency!!!!
