I opened a CD that was paying a nice high rate. I received a letter about my account being inactive. I went to the bank and their clerk told me all was fine. Later I went to check and I was told the bank no longer had our money. This bank sent my money to the state and said they closed my account due to inactivity. How ridiculous is that. Of course there is inactivity you don't withdraw from a CD because you get penalties. Run from this bank. They don't help you resolve the problem. This was their way of avoiding paying the high interest they claim to offer. I am still trying to get my mother's money from the state. This was the money of an 84 year old widow on a fixed income. This bank rips you off. I hope this review helps save someone the problems I am going thru.

I have banked with them for over 20 years and have had several mortgages with them. Since they outsource their serving center and escrow account the service is horrible. They dont call you back, they have had our escrow money for over 2 months now and we haven't seen it since we closed on May 3rd 2017. I would advise anyone to not get a mortgage with them nor bank with them. This had been a horrible experience and we are still waiting on our refund. Kelly Rothwell

Jason Kindler and his team were absolutely amazing to work with. We had a bad experience with a previous lender which led us to search for new service and In the process, find Bank Of England. From the beginning, communication was top notch and they worked extra quick to get our loan pushed through so that we could move into our new home. We really enjoyed working with them and can't thank them enough for fabulous service!
First Atlantic Bank took over Center Bank's San Marco location. Since doing so, they have incrementally shifted numerous requirements for certain bank accounts. For instance, to maintain the benefits of the Treasure Checking account, they changed the debit transaction requirement from 10 to 20. They then limited foreign atm fee reimbursement to $20/month, where it had been unlimited before. This is important because First Atlantic is a community bank and you cannot find one of their ATMs outside of Jacksonville. They will tell you that you can use the presto atms at Publix, but again, Publix is a relatively small grocery chain without a national footprint. Finally, they began charging their own fees for foreign atm usage. Basically, they have nickle and dimed to the point that I am being forced to close my account.
I stayed at my bfs and wanted to make a cash deposit via ATM. I've never had to have my cash verified and Walt on my funds. This is extremely inconvenient. Ice never experienced this challenge with any other wells Fargo and have been with wells Fargo before they even were. I will never go back to this location. Now I have to wait 2 days to funds verified???
I would assign a single star rating to this bank if not for the people who work there who are typically courteous. I have been banking there for almost eight years; initially they offered a high interest rate on their "Treasure Checking" (about 4%) providing their requirements of 10-debits and 1-automatic withdrawal were met, entirely reasonable given the interest rate they provided at the time so they could build their deposits. Since then, they have systematically reduced the rate. Additionally, if all requirements are not met, the interest is a paltry .03% which is somewhat of an insult. The final straw arrived via their recent announcement that they now require twice as many debit transactions (20) to qualify for their already reduced higher tier rate. No thanks-- when I start to feel that a bank benefitting from my capital has policies which approach being punitive in nature or which require too much effort to satisfy, I'll take my money to one of the MANY better alternatives available today.
