For inner city Westside, Bubba's is one our better restaurants. I've been going to this restaurant for over 30 years, when it was Denny's on Blanding, then Salty's at the present location. I'm not a big fan of their steaks, but seafood is good. I use to get a steak but all seem to have lots of grizzle now. I love their steak tips, prime rib sandwich, and ground steak with peppers and onions, but do not get a regular steak anymore, the quality has gone down, in my opinion. House salad and baked potato are really good. Hush puppies are like hard gummy rocks. (My dogs love them, though.) Quality and quantity very. Sometimes you get lots (Just got home, and I had 3 dozen shrimp in the box for a large shrimp dinner, for example.) That has to be some kind of record. Sometimes you don't get so much. I stopped ordering oysters, because they were so small and so few. All in all, its a good place to eat. I'm glad we still have a place like this on the westside. Neighborhood is sort of like living in the hood now, glad Denny's (Bubba's) has survived. When I think of the place it brings back so many great memories.
Ate lunch with my wife there today. Had the renegade sirloin steak medium rare, baked potato and salad. The wife went with a half rack of ribs, baked potato and salad. My steak was tender to cut and melted in my mouth. The flavor, well all I can think of was it was to die for. My wife had the same feeling about her ribs. The service was fast, the server treated us like old friends, I will say we do eat that often but it has been a couple months since we were there last. I am a cheap scape so naturally I wished the price was cheaper, it was about $10 each but compared the other restaurants in the area the price was reasonable. I would highly recommend eating there if one has the chance. The other dishes there are also outstanding. I have had each one of their steaks and they are always cooked to perfections, and my wife has tried just about all their other dishes and she is very picky but has yet to complain about anything there.
I want to start off by saying that i have gone to this restaurant too many times to count and have always enjoyed myself. The food is always cooked right and we never have to wait too long to be seated. Last week my wife and i went there for lunch which we usually don't do. It was taking a very long time to get our appetizer and salads, and just before i start to ask for a manager, the GM came up to our table and apologized for the wait and told us that they were very sorry and told us that he was going to buy our meals for us that day. Not just that he brought us out a free bowl of soup that was excellent as well. I must say that he fixed any feelings i had that might have been bad for that dining experience. So this my way of saying, go and enjoy..
one of the best restaurant i ever visit at first i was fear from Brazilian cuisine that i will find nothing love to eat but actually it was the best open salad bar contain every thing you can imagine with a signature of pineapple fried and seasoned with cinnamon a variety of meet beef and lamb cooked very nice there was chicken leg and chicken breast rapped in bacon the drink was good the whole experience was new for me about the restaurant the servant walk with food and you have a sign in your table if you but it on red side he know that you r ok and leave you if the sign is green every one will show you what he have the manager ask each table if every thing is ok also our kid is 4 years they offer her food for free affordable price
Hi! I just wanted to say, Sidney is a fantastic server. She was very personable, had patience with my multitude of questions and even did an awesome job with our table side steak sauce preparation! We hardly ever go out to eat because we are both in the service industry and its hard to not be a critic. But she was so on point with absolutely everything!!!! She made our whole evening so much better! I will always ask for her when we return. And I have a feeling we will be coming back. The food was excellent and her service was just... Wow! Thank you Sidney. You made our night!P.s. I took the time to sign up for yelp just so I could leave this review. And then went through the edit process to let everyone know that she's awesome!
Average meal $18 to $22 each with items like Lobster tail at $39.I arrived to remove the napkin to find some nasty thing on it. Looked around and the dust on the brick wall was thick enough to write your name in. The salad had plenty of brown lettuce, I was hungry and ate most of mine but my wife ate almost none of hers. The steak she had (Rib eye) was ok not high end tender but acceptable. My chicken mozzarella was fairly good. Service was so-so. My bill was $43 something. I left $6.00 tip but they billed me $51.65 anyway which is why I am writing this review because if I am going to pay extra for so-so then people are gonna know about it. Hence: Every action has a reaction.
absolutely amazing!!! Top-notch service, Top-notch meat! I was surprised with the very attentive and rapid service. I have worked in 2 Brazilian churrascarias and gone to Texas Brazil. Let me tell you, there are not as big as Texas brazil, but surely are similir or better. I am definitely going back. The price is right, but is not for everybody and certainly not an everyday restaurant you go to. Nonetheless, I have to applaud them for the great job they are doing. Keep it up!!! you guys finally did what, I guess, everyone was waiting for.
This is an easy 5-star. Second to none in our city in service and food quality. This is not Chili's, Applebees or Fridays, this is personalized service just like what you get on a cruiser. I visited with my wife on our wedding anniversary a couple of days ago and it's the most I've eaten in my life, desert (papaya mix with a bit of liquor topping) was delicious as well. If you're considering something different with unmatched food quality and service, give it a try, you won't regret it. Alex & Lulu
The atmosphere was friendly and inviting, and the food was even better. Your pallet will be blessed beyond measure. Go and taste the unexpected. I felt very safe and relaxed in their establishment. The management was very accommodating, I've returned and they never cease to amaze me. The thoughts of their entrees are making me hungry. Last, but not least, the music was great and the setting, a rustic and classy feel, encourage us to mingle, and mingling we did. :)
OMG - finally a great Brazilian Steakhouse has arrived in Jacksonville. The meat was exceptional and was surprised to say the Lamb Chops was my favorite as I love filet and skirt steak. I really enjoyed the Caipirinha, Brazil's national cocktail. Nice wine selection as well. The service was very attentive and the pricing is a great value. The is located next to Chick Fil A off Southside Blvd which is very close to the St Johns Town Center.
