I took in a canvas bag to have 4 straps reinforced after one strap became lose. I was charged $13.50 to have all 4 straps reinforced. I retrieved my bag a week later & was assured all straps were reinforced. The strap in question was sewn with a different thread, I was told the bobbin ran out & they used a different color. After taking the bag home & upon closer inspection of all the straps, it appeared, the other 3 had only the original manufacturer's stitching. No reinforcement was done to 3 if the straps. I returned with the bag. I explained my complaint. I was given a No Charge ticket & told I'd be called in a few days when it was ready & all the straps were reinforced. It took 3 weeks & a call from me regarding the bag. The man answering assured me the bag was ready, he took responsibility for not calling to let me know it was ready. I will never patronize their establishment again!

I chose this repair shop because of its rating and I could stop on my way to work. it posted its hours as opened at 7:30 AM. I arrived at 8:45 AM and it was not open and there was no message on the door. I called the local number and got voice mail. I left a message. At 11:10 AM I go a call back and the person acknowledged that he had not been there and that he was at a meeting. No apology just that he was there now. I will never waste my time going back.
I'm not sure what the other reviewers are talking about but I took a nice pair of stiletto boots to get the heels re done as I had worn them to the nail and they did a wonderful job. The heel not only had new bottoms on it but they also smoothed and fixed the leather where it was peeling off due to excess wear of shoe all for $10. I will for sure be back!!!

A good shoe repair is hard to find anywhere in Jacksonville---they are few and far between. However, Phil Pitts has been at it since 1985, and he is a true craftsman when it comes to the art of re-soleing and repairing all types of high end boots (leather, ostrich, snake skin, etc.) as well as fine leather dress shoes. in 1985 he connected his shoe repair to his father's barber shop, King Arthur's Barber Shop (est. 1971-- originally owned and operated by Phil's Dad, (King) Arthur Pitts Jr., then located at the Arlington Expressway Mall, Publix Shopping Center)--resulting in King Arthur's Barber/ Shop Shoe Repair. When the shopping center closed it's doors in 1995, the shop moved to it's current location in the Regency Walk Shopping Center on Atlantic Blvd., across from Brumos Mercedes dealership, approximately 3/4 of a mile from Regency Mall. Phil was raised to believe a man is known by the quality of the work he does--one of the secret's to his father's long-standing success; he has integrated this philosophy into his own work ethic--and it shows.
