General Info

The Jacksonville Building Inspection Division reviews and approves plans, issues permits for residential and commercial construction, and performs building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, sign, landscape and swimming pool inspections according to the Florida Building Code and local ordinances. The Jacksonville Building Inspection Division also provides building code enforcement for the above referenced codes. Zoning concerns are dealt with by the Jacksonville Planning Department. The division s Web site features a copy of Florida Building Code documents. Residents of Jacksonville, Fla., are encouraged to register to receive new bulletins through e-mail. The division is under the jurisdiction of the Jacksonville Public Works Department.
