By far the best gyms in Jacksonville. Don't be fooled by these $10 a month gyms opening up on every corner - you get what you pay for! Bailey's has been in Jacksonville as long as I have lived here (at least 15 years) and they just keep getting better. If you want a quality place to work out, that is clean, and has a great staff - go to Bailey's.

Some of these reviews must be old. I joined about a year ago. No contract and the people have been great. Lots of good equipment and the place is always clean. I like that they have a play area for my little girl. Best thing is the gym is spotless. I come in the morning and I always see someone cleaning. Never saw that at my old gym (golds)

Bailey's Gym is ever decreasing their employees and holding back on their commmission that should be paid to their employees as promised. Now you have to wait 3 months until commission are paid to the enrolling employee. If you shoose to leave the company they do not pay you your commissions even if you give proper notice (2 weeks or more). Why would anyone want to do business with people like this who do everything to encourage employees to work hard but then do more to hold back pay and commissions on them.
Planet Fitness is only $10 per month and service is much better here.

The prices are not bad at all. The equipment is maintained well. The staff is friendly. Even at peak times there is almost always the equipment available that I want when I want it. This constitutes five star worthiness all by itself.
Additionally, they have a great plan for me and my family. Our toddler can stay in a day-care type play room with a very nice and capable caretaker for $3 per visit -- so my wife and I can get some peace and some exercise without a spell from the other. This is a very big deal to us. we use the kid care service regularly and we can get better deals on a monthly basis. The kid care covers morning and evening time windows during the week (covering the lunch hour) as well as Saturday mornings.
Other offerings are excercise classes (yoga, aerobics, etc) as well as personal trainers.

I had been a member of Baileys powerhouse gym. I completly agree to the comments stating that the customer service is pathetic. They dont listen and on top of it they are arrogant. They will rip you off for your hard earned money.
I will never recommend Baileys gym to anyone. They would be number 1 (in terms of providing worst customer service) if someone has to rate them for the kind of service they provide. Please think twice if u have to join this gym.

I established a contract and under their terms my account was not to increase as long as I am a continual memeber. So the case is that every time I renew my account the staff insists that the offer is no longer available and I must take whatever the current offer is as If I have never been a customer and I get that same treatment every time I try to renew. The gym staff says that I am correct and must speak to Tabitha in billing, yet the person that answers Marie or Marina says that Tabitha has the discretion not to return my call and refuses to transfer me to her. Can anyone call this customer service? I have been a member for over 6 years and planned to continue being so, but the treatment to a customer is absolutely condescending. Just wait till you have to renew your contract. The joy of a good bargain is far outlasted by poor service.

I have been a member of Bailey's for over ten years, and I have never seen what these other people have. The staff there is friendly and most everyone knows me by name when I walk in the door. As a business owner myself, I know that sometimes staff turnover can be a problem, but I have always seen a great effort on their management's behalf on keeping up the gym's appearances and adding/repairing equipment. Their owners are local, so they actually come in to the gyms to see first hand what's going on. I can't imagine working out anywhere else in Jax. If you give all of the gyms in Jax a chance, I know that you'll like Bailey's best.

quantity not quality at baileys.
if you question them or say something about the facilites they cancel your membership. If they do not like the way you look they will do the same. mnay friends have been kicked out or left beacuse of the treatment and poor management.
