Jax Foreign Auto Service & Body Shop

Last week, I took my 2008 BMW to the dealer for problems I was having with my transmission. They did about $1500.00 worth of work (supposedly) . After picking my car up I noticed I was having the same issues. $1500.00 and some change later, I drive back up to the dealership and am told I needed a new transmission. Good thing I went with my gut and decided to get a second opinion.



I took my car to Jax Foreign Auto and they did an automatic transmission service and reprogrammed the transmission and guess what? EVERYTHING IS FINE!!!! Not only did I save thousands and a perfectly good transmission - I saved a lot of time too! They had me up and running in no time! I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone! The guys at this shop are honest, thorough and fast! No run around BS like the dealer! And most importantly , NO BS prices!!!!

Stay far away from this shop. The owner Gus knows how to play the system and he will screw you once he has your car in the shop.

I was looking for a local foreign repair shop and found all the reviews from Yellow Pages. I decided to give this shop a try based on reviews. I'm glad I did! The reviews were obviously good for a reason! The service was great, I saved money and had my car back in no time! I own an M5 and usually do not have problems with this vehicle. The few times I took it to the dealer , I paid a small fortune for repairs and it took FOR EVER to get my vehicle back! Two things I hate most! The reviews definitely back up the quality work of this place! Also, i appreciate that they back up their work with a warranty. Very helpful. I am very please with this shop! I've been a customer for a bit of time. I asked for some advice on the purchase of my present vehicle and was told not to buy it. I didn't listen of course and now I'm really kicking myself! They told me the vehicle was some what high maintenance and boy was that true! Three weeks after the purchase of my car, one of my catalytic convertors went out. MB wanted over $1300 to repair it! of course, they were NO help! You'd think after purchasing a car from them - under a month they would throw some type of discount to accommodate. No, not the case! I got this replaced for just over dealer cost at Jax F. ! Also, my cousin recently purchased a car. JFA said if we wanted to , we could bring the vehicle up there for a test drive and have them check it out for free! It's the little things I really appreciate! :) Thanks again for all of you help! Really appreciate you guys!

Had body work done this week. FANTASTIC job! Crazy how you can't tell I had any work done! I had a very awful accident a few weeks back in my Vette. I am thankful for being alive and getting this car restored back to health! Wouldn't trust anyone but my dude Gus! He's the man! Many thanks big guy!

I am a former shop owner from S. Carolina. I can tell you this, i don't trust people - especially, knowing what I know about mechanics , etc. I have been very pleased over the years using this particular company. They have competitive pricing and know their stuff. I wouldn't trust anyone else bubba.

I own a 2006 Mercedes Benz S class. I've taken it to Mercedes and other shops around town. Glad I found this little gem! I paid half the damn money and walked away problem free! Would def. recommend to friends and family!

I honestly cannot recommend this place. My background includes heavy machinery mechanic and I am an engineer. My car ran well but would overheat if driven a distance. I had looked at replacing the water pump on my Saab myself but I did not have the time so I took it to this shop. Two days later I contacted the shop and was told that I had more problems and the timing gears had to be replaced. I asked what the total cost for all repair would be, over the phone, and I was told $1600-1800. I approved the work. 7 days later I called again and was told that one cylinder was not firing now. I was asked if this had ever happened before and it had not. I was told it would cost $1,100 more to fix the car for a new engine computer. I picked up the car anyway since my total bill amounted to $2,068.00 which was more than the $1800. I drove it home while it sputtered and then looked under the hood. The main vacuum line to the turbo was not hooked up, electrical lines were pulled out of there supports and not replaced and the hose supports on the front of the engine were all broken. I now have a car which does not run very well at all. I am also out $2,068 dollars for this. This was a really bad experience all around.



It finally quite completely the next day and is at the dealer. I was told that several wires were severed and they have to start there. I will give an update once the total bill is compete for this repair. They have not indicated a computer replacement at this time.

Gus, the owner, puts on a nice front. He'll tell you he can fix it and he seems like he knows what he's doing, but it's all a lie. Sure, he might be able to fix it, but once you get your car back, something else will go wrong. He'll tell you it's a coincidence...another lie. He probably knows more about the cars he works on than a lot of other people do, certainly enough that he knows how to make other things go wrong to have you back in his shop in a couple of weeks for more business. He'll RIP YOU OFF!!!! And when you call him out on something, he'll tell you you're wrong and he won't give you any kind of refund for what you already paid....and you still won't have a working car. Don't trust him, don't believe his lies, and best of all...don't take your car to Jax Foreign Auto Service & Body!!!!!
