My son has been taking voice lessons with Bob for the better part of four years. I also had my oldest son take guitar lessons for two years. They enjoyed the lessons had learned so much. I drive all the way from St Johns county every week and would not be traveling this far if not for the excellent service Bob offers.
Thank you so much Brad! I enjoyed teaching them both and appreciate your commitment to their learning. Thanks again! - Bob Mann
I have worked with Bob on voice and guitar for almost 18 months. Bob is a great teacher, and I started seeing dramatic improvements in my voice from the first lesson, and never stopped improving. I have been singing and playing since I was 13, but this is my first time working to develope my voice. We made big improvements on all aspects of performance. As great a teacher and musician as Bob is, he never gets lost in the fact that you 'play' music, you do not 'work it.' Bob keeps the focus on having fun and sharing the joy of making music. I recommend him to everyone, of any age or ability, looking for a great teacher!
Hey Phil! I just found your review and wanted to respond!! It's been a while, so please feel free to come out again, anytime. I'd really like to see how you've progressed on you own since you've been here. Thanks for your review! -- Bob Mann
My daughter started off with Bob taking keyboard lessons. It did not take her long to gain interest in all of the other areas Bob teaches. She now studies keyboard, Ukelele, Guitar and most recently voice with Bob. I have watched her go from barely understanding the music to having the ability to break down songs and add her own flavor to them. He ignites her creativity and makes the entire experience fun for her. He adapts the lessons to whatever genre of music the student is in to, which is important in maintaining the interest and motivation to continue playing. He is extremely flexible and has very reasonable prices. I would recommend Bob to anyone interested in learning to play or sing.
I originally began taking lessons from Bob for my voice. I have been singing for a few years now… all self-taught, and I thought it was about time to get some professional teachings. Bob has certainly measured up to my expectations of a teacher, and then completely blown them out of the water and sent them sailing! I'm now taking guitar lessons from Bob on top of voice lessons, and with both voice/guitar, he excels at something that I think is the most important thing for ANY teacher; he can pick apart your play-ability/technique, decipher what your strengths/weaknesses are, and then provide you with the tools to boost your strengths and make your weaknesses a thing of the past. Bob does an INCREDIBLE job at really providing each student the attention they require for their specific needs, and not just fitting everyone into the same 'mold' by feeding them the basics of their instrument or laying out some generic plan to get you where you’d like to be. He is very knowledgeable and easy-going. Whenever I hit a slump (and yes, you will!), he analyzes my issues, suggests some exercises - which is usually accompanied by one of his many analogies to help you understand the reasoning by his 'madness' - and every time, I am astounded with the change that comes from all his tips and tricks. And more often than not, they are simple, little things that truly work wonders. He has given me the confidence to keep pursuing music no matter the obstacle, and has even inspired a new love for music with his insight into the realm of this wonderful craft. Bob Mann is a modern-day wizard in my opinion, and will provide you all the wisdom any of you King Arthurs' and Frodo Baggins' need to conquer your instrument.
What an awesome review, thanks Gabriel! Congratulations on your brand-new baby too!
Bob has really helped me with voice techniques and improving my voice. I'm very glad I've chosen him to take lessons with. He really knows his stuff and makes everything very comfortable and easy to learn from. He really focused on helping me improve and helped a ton!
Josh! I finally found the review you left me, sorry it took me so long! Let me please say how much I enjoyed working with you. I remember your sister got you a gift certificate for one month of voice. Since you already had strong skills, it was easy to plus those for you in such a short time. Also, gotta say, your band PTPL absolutely rocks!!! Congratulations on your numerous recent successes there! You guys make great music productions and videos. Stop by and see me sometime. Thanks again! -- Bob Mann
Mr. Bob is a wonderful music teacher! I started taking lessons when I was 10 and have enjoyed every single session. I learned so much about the different scales on the keyboard and different pitch with my vocals and have noticed improvement with my singing. I would recommend Mr. Bob to anyone who wants to learn how to play an instrument, especially guitar or singing.
Yet another talent Bob Mann has voice. Bob is giving my 14 year old voice lesson's and after only two lesson's my son say's he can tell a differce in his voice and so can i.My son also took guitar lesson's with Bob for about 3years and last year at LaVilla School of the Arts he recieved the honor of excellence in classical guitar. Mr.Mann is great teacher for kid's of any age...
Bob Mann is amazingly gifted in not just playing music but teaching it as well. I have been self taught for 3 years and after going to Bob for a few months I’ve found so many loose ends of my guitar playing being tied together by music theory and techniques that he has showed me. Bob is incredibly versatile in his playing style and therefore can help you with any genre your interested in. Since I was self taught I had a lot of imperfections in my playing that limited me and while others may have passed by them without realizing them, Bob was easily able to pick them out and resolve them to help me improve my sound and playing performance.
Bob was a fantastic find. I went into my first lesson only able to play a couple chords so I was looking for a little direction on rhythm, music theory and song play. Bob has more than met those expectations. Although I would not consider myself musically gifted, after only four months, I feel much more confident in my ability to pick up the guitar and learn a new song or a new type of play. I would say one of Bob’s best attributes is his ability to quickly point out your personal trouble areas and then give some outstanding advice and exercises to fix those deficiencies. Bob is easy to get along with, has a wealth of experience, and will make you a better guitar player no matter what level you are at. Highly recommended! (unless you take my time slot ☺)
Basically in my own opinion I think I made a great choice by choosing Bob as an instructor. I went out on a limb considering this is the first time I have ever taken guitar lessons and was not sure what to expect. I went with my gutt instinct and can not be more satisfied with my sessions. Bob is very knowledgeable in not only the skill but the language of music as well. Not to mention he is very diverse and his years of experience shows. No question will go unanswered and Bob is willing to go whatever direction you choose to. I would recommend Bob to anyone interested in learning the art of music. I especially can appreciate my new understanding that Bob has provided for me. Give him a chance and I am convinced you will keep coming back!
Bob is the best teacher out there! He teaches you guitar the right way. He has such a high success rate with his students because he is a good listener, and good talker, and encourages his students to remember to go at their own pace. He likes to say, " It's not a race... enjoy the journey." With Bob learning isn't a chore--it's fun. He's also very affordable and will bend over backwards for his students. Pick Bob!
Out of all the guitar teachers, I am convinced that Bob Mann is the best. In my short 5 months of taking lessons from him, I have learned more than I learned in 5 years with my other music teachers. His uncanny ability to hear and comprehend music, partnered with his love for composing, playing, and teaching guitar has created a musical genius and master. He will actually listen to his students, and teach them what they want, which is seldom among teachers nowadays. Anyone, from kids to adults, should take lessons from him, and would be lucky to take lessons from him. It’s difficult to find a teacher who knows what he is talking about and is professional, but also is passionate and real about what he does. If you are looking for excellent guitar lessons that are at a reasonable price then he is by far your best option. You will undoubtedly get WAY more than what you pay for.
Bob is the Mann. His ability, musical knowledge and playing and writing experience put him at an expert level, but you get the feeling that he still remembers what it feels like to learn and how much patience it takes to progress. This makes him a fantastic teacher for students of all levels. I've been playing guitar for 15 years at a relatively high level, but I have no problem learning new things from Bob every lesson. He also has an extremely diverse range of tastes and genres that he can utilize to move the lessons in virtually any direction. The combination of his skills as a player and teacher and his reasonable pricing makes him the best deal in town for students of any level.
