Hello to all the Ladies from Philadelphia Baptist Church of Jacksonville whom we met in Savannah, GA on April23, 2017. This is a greeting and letting you know we send prayers for your safety during the hurricane! We were the Grannie Girl Scouts visiting the First African Baptist Church of Savannah on that day too! We loved meeting you outside for pictures! Please stay safe and as the Girl Scouts say: Be Prepared! Love, Janis, Patt, Pam and Leslie/Mariner Scout Troop #98, Santa Ana, CA firstname.lastname@example.org
The people there are NOT friendly and as for the pastor's humor, if I wanted a church experience that makes me feel I'm in the Comedy Zone, I'd GO to the Comedy Zone or anywhere else where there is live entertainment. I want the PURE Word of God, not a comedian and all that looooooong, long, long, more than an hour of loud music and a man with hair all the way down his back as the Leader of the so-called 60+ minutes of "Praise and Worship" which is done before the "REAL" church services begins, then to have to listen to jokes in the place of the teaching of the Bible is not my idea of what I want in a worship service. And AGAIN!!!! The people are NOT friendly at all, even in their Sunday School hour that precedes the long praise and worship leading up to the comedy hour with the pastor. I've been there more than once and each time I've visited, it has been the same old, same old kind of mess. Pastor needs to start studying his KJB so that he can bring a decent sermon rather than jokes and generalities to the congregation. The congregation seems to worship the pastor rather than the Master!!!
no way to contact this church...cannot reach by phone, no website, no facebook page...

I don't know which Pastor Hodges you ae speaking of but it cannot be the man that Pastors First Baptist Church West in Jacksonville Florida. I have heard him preach, held conversations with him and eaten with him on multiple occasions. I have found him to have a great manner about him being ready to listen as well as talk being truly concerned about the people in his church. He is a man of God doing a tough job in tough times. I truly hope that you haven't let something petty or personal to cause you to make such a post.
