Italian Restaurants in Jacksonville, FL

I met several friends at Joseph's a little while back. I ordered their famous Anipasta salad, when it came they tried to pass off a regular salad as what I ordered. Even the manager came to my table and backed up our server's claim that it's was an anipasta salad. I've been a professional cook for 33 years. So needles to say, I'll never patronize their restaurant again. Joseph wouldn't have stood for such unprofessionalism in his place.

I've eaten here so many times. This restaurant is where I go when I want to be satisfied with dinner and dessert. I always start out with a full meat and cheese plate. I choose 5 cheeses and meats from their daily selection. The only meat that is always on the menu is the chorizo and it's tasty! Their cheese and meat plates always come with truffle honey, mini dill pickles, dried fruit (variety), house made fig jam, course ground mustard, crustinis and pickled pearl onions. It's a delicious starter. Another appetizer I love is their Gambas al Ajilla (shrimp, garlic and chili). The shrimps are large in a garlic chili sauce. The sauce is rich and savory, we always ask for more bread to dip in the excess sauce. I've had a lot on their menu: HOUSE-MADE FETTUCCINI V - tomato cream sauce, fresh basilHOUSE-MADE RAVIOLI V herbed ricotta ravioli, eggplant caponata, smoked eggplant puree, ricotta salata, pine nuts-I added scallopsORECCHIETTE-I had it when they had a thai basil sauceSALMON - braised lentils, bacon, pearl onions, parsnip pureeGrilled Hanger steak with truffle friesMonk fish over chorizo kaleHouse Made sweet potato pasta with duck confit and mandarin orangesThey had a pizza one time with lamb sausage and feta cheeseI've enjoyed everything I've ever had here. The Taverna prepares their scallops to perfection. I would highly recommend trying them if you're a scallop lover. I always get their sorbets and/or gelatos for dessert. You can pick three and choose them to your liking. They are all house made. My favorite is their mint chocolate chip. The fresh mint is invigorating, it's fresh and simple on the palate. I've never had mint ice cream with the TRUE flavor of the herb so prominent. I would highly recommend the Taverna!

I went and picked up a salad from Olive Garden for lunch today, got back to my job and found a hair in it! So I politely called and to manager was so nice and apologetic that I almost felt bad for complaining. Then he personally brought a fresh salad and slice of chocolate cheesecake to my job!!! I love Olive Garden.

Do NOT eat at this restaurant! (Merrill Road location next door to publix)I paid $14 for a Calzone that was burnt to a crisp. When I called to tell them about it I wasn't offered anything but excuses with a lot of attitude on the side. Apparently if you order mushrooms,black olives,ham and pepperoni you have to cook it longer and that is the reason it is burnt. When I told him that was ridiculous and my calzone was black/brown it was so dark I was yelled at and hung up on. The calzone was also was so greasy that it was almost falling though the box! Also-- there was plenty of mozz cheese in the calzone but no ricotta at all. I can't comment on the taste because I couldn't find a burnt free spot to munch on. VERY disappointed and annoyed that I was treated this way when they CLEARLY know they burnt my food.

Excellent flavor. Great price. Pizza this good usually costs about $6 more. I love a real handmade crust.

Rude Rude Rude...called at 9:32 Pm, I could hardly understand this man, his speech was slurred. He claimed they stop delivering at 9:30 (2 minutes ago), when I brought this to his attention, he hung up on me!!! Thank goodness I didn't order from them!!! I read the reviews on the internet and see they are a ripe off and their food has no flavor, or the orders are incomplete or wrong.No wonder they post menus on my front door every week. They are desperate for any sucker they can con into ordering their crap!!! I own a business and this is not how you conduct good customer care. I serve customers before we open and after, and I have been in business for 18 years and I have the most successful business in my industry here in Jax!! They have even changed their name from Efes to Primo (a primo piece of X@!#*)...to divert previous customers...don't be fooled!!

We have eaten here twice both times excellent, highly recommend this small restaurant with excellent food.

your server there Danielle is by far the best server we have ever had in any restaurant anywhere her service was impeccable everything came out exactly the way it should have appetizers first then salad then meal never had a better experience

Terrific dinner, great waiter. Made my reservation via YP after calling restaurant and not having luck so was thrilled I could get one via the app. Everything from bread, soup, our meals, and Nonna's pound cake was terrific. Love Maggiano's!
