in may, 2010, i was going down to jacksonville, 220 miles away, to see my cousins and to look at a 2005 mercury in which i was interested. i needed a good unbiased expert opinion on the condition of this car, so i scoured the internet and came up with dealer diagnostic. i made an appointment with the owner. when i drove up, he was just about ready for me. they test drove the car, looked at EVERYTHING under the hood (and i chose to have an electronic analysis performed), and they even looked at the chassis and body. after a most thorough inspection, they gave the car a "thumbs up" with a warning that the rear wheel bearings, a problem with that year model, were starting to make noise. i bought the car with confidence! because i only had one key, they later arranged for me to meet their "auto key man" on the premises a couple months later on my next trip down to make me a couple more keys. i have a '98 buick lesabre, 3.8, with the GM brainchild PLASTIC PLENUM - and have already replaced it twice! i suspected another imminent replacement after i lost a lot of coolant on a night trip in august, 2010, which turned out to be the result of the bottom radiator hose separating from the radiator. i was now in a quandry: only radiator hose or radiator hose AND plenum problem? my solution: DEALER DIAGNOSTIC ... i emailed the owner telling him about my dilemma. he graciously agreed to "check it out" the next time was down if i called him. i emailed him the first week in october and made the arrangements. i called an hour prior to my arrival, and although the owner was on vacation, i was assured that i would be well taken care of. 23 minutes after i exited !-95 on pecan park road, i merged back on to I-95 with complete knowledge that i did not have a plenum problem based on the oil consistency and the reservoir level, which i did not touch since completely refilling it after the august hose separation. i was also "complimented" on not using the GM stock coolant when i replaced the plenum because of the terrible interaction between the coolant properties and the plastic plenum and plenum gaskets. i was cautioned that although i had the "right" coolant now, the intake manifold gasket may, in the future, need a look because of its exposure to GM's "magic coolant". needless to say, it is quite settling to know that "i have a friend" in the auto diagnostics business. you'd better believe that i'll gladly make the three-hour drive if my car will possibly make it! oh, yeah ... if it doesn't, i understand that they DO offer tow service. the service at dealer diagnostic is excellent, their expertise is phenomenal, and the peace of mind is priceless!
Good old-fashioned, honest, reliable service from FOR C&L in Jacksonville, FL has revived my faith in businesses and humanity! On a 3-day trip with my child and dog, I had encountered a major roadside ripoff an hour outside of Tallahasee in which a mechanic took 5 hours to change a belt that had broken, charged $391 for the work, and then tried to convince me that my car needed a new engine. For a used engine, he quoted “$2,000” ….pause, pause, pause….”plus labor.” Instead, my husband drove 100 miles to pick up my child and me, and we had the car towed by C&L Automotive & Truck Accessories (4990 Philips Hwy, Jacksonville, FL), which a coworker had said was reliable. C&L sent a tow truck 110 miles from Jacksonville to pick up the car, discovered, and quickly fixed the problem. Yes, some damage had been done in the short drive after I noticed the problem, but repairs cost less than half of what the roadside person suggested. C&L kept me informed all during the repairs, and also asked me to bring the car back for a final road check before leaving for the drive home. During our first conversation, the owner had said the charge on the road didn’t sound right. When I picked up the car, he mentioned it again, grabbed a book of what rates mechanics should charge, looked up the belt, and said the charge should have been “$149, or maximum $199, for an emergency roadside repair.” Positive sign that he cares enough for other companies not to scam a customer. The expertise and professionalism from everyone at C&L is much-appreciated! If they give that kind of care to a complete stranger who may never be in that area again, I can only imagine that they would show just as much – or more – professionalism to someone who lives nearby and would be a potential customer. Kudos to a great place! I would give 10 stars if they were available.
After my transmission went out and I received a few quotes for getting it repaired, I spoke with a friend who recommended I speak with Alvie. She said she hadn't used his services however she had heard great things. I researched Alvie's Transmission Service, online, and found that they have an A+ rating with the BBB and great customer reviews. In fact, I didn't see one negative review. So, I called Alvie who was the first person to tell me that I had another option, beyond a rebuilt or used transmission, I could get a refurbished transmission. The refurbished transmission comes with a 3 year 100K mile warranty whereas all of the other options seem to only come with a 12 month warranty. I spoke with another shop that was willing to put a refurbished transmission in my car however they were only willing to warranty the labor for 12 months although the transmission would have a 3 year 100k mile warranty. I spoke with Alvie again and he assured me that his warranty covers both the labor (R&R) and the transmission. Needless to say, I went with Avlie and haven't been disappointed. I gave the go ahead to order the transmission on a Tuesday, he had it in his shop the next day and I was able to pick up my car that Friday. Great turnaround!!! Also, he's great at communicating via text and has also texted me since I picked up my car, just to make sure everything is going okay. I'm very skeptical when it comes to car repair shops because it seems like many mechanics try to bleed you dry instead of doing what's best for you at a reasonable price. I hate to feel like someones trying to get one over on me and Alvie has done a great job of making me feel good about my decision and never making me feel like he was only out for himself. I will definitely be recommending his services to friends and family, when needed.
you know its a shame to see just how many people in the world will try to weasel there way out of the responsibility of paying for a car by damaging the reputation and credibility of a man and his bussiness. Especially after that same man gives you countless opportunities to make arrangements and YOU yourself cant even show up! nevertheless i still go to mills auto mart for routine maintance on my second vehicle bought from him and even though it has a few quirks its still a darn good running vehicle and martin and his staff have always been more than helpfull everytime i go there. i have also sent a few friends to him and they have all left there happy and in a car they wanted and could afford. Look, if you cant afford a car, dont buy it, or at the very least, return it to him on your own without them having to come get it. but never attack someone for an issue caused by you!! I see so many ppl go in there acting like the world owes them something, or at the very least martin mills does, oh and how wrong they are. I have never seen them handle these situations with nothin but professionalism, and if you have ever seen somethin like this go on there you would know just how hard it would be for an average joe to be able to maintain composure in a situation like that.the calibur of character youll find in those who go there to strt problems is apalling!! Yet Martin Mills and his staff stand unwaivering in the presence of such injustice and still conduct bussiness in a manor that would make donald trump proud. So, Martin, you guys keep doing what you guys do and no matter what these people say remember you guys are the bomb!!! I wouild reccomend this place to the pope if he ever got the knowtion to buy a car!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!
this is truly the most honest business practice i have ever run across. I had just bought a used truck and took it in to have a bit of a shimmy looked at. being a woman, i fully expected them to treat me like other businesses has in the past, as if i didn't know anything, and then try to sell me stuff i didn't need. not only did they not do that, they also pointed out that i did not need things done that i fully thought i did. the lead mechanic, dave, has got to be the most honest mechanic i have ever run across, and the owners are kind, compassionate, and care more about the customer than making a profit. and when i went there, they did not know that i used to be a truck driver, owner/operator, and know a little more than the average female. but they did not treat me a like a typical shop and try to pull the wool over my eyes to sell me stuff i didn't need. they are an increditble business in these times of so many businesses trying to rook someone just to make a buck. and of course, i would trust that mechanic dave with any equipment that i have. he really is the most awesome mechanic i have ever run across, whether semi truck or pickup truck, but to give you an idea of his expertise, the truck i just bought last week was a GMC sierra 3500 dually longbed with a duramax diesel engine and allison transmission. awesome truck, but even more awesome people to deal with when you buy a used truck!!!!!
I have to say after reading those two reviews I am astonished. This was the best car buying experience ever. I do not know exactly what happened with them, but my story is nothing but pleasant! After going to SIX different car dealers and basically being LAUGHED AT about my credit, I came to Karsrus. Half of the dealers I went to claimed they did not check credit but as soon as I pulled in that was the 1st thing they did! I was told by someone at JD Byrider to go see Charlie at Karsrus. I was already fed up at this point so did not have much hope. As soon as I pulled in they instantly made me feel welcomed. They DID NOT run my credit instead said they went off of my job and down payment amount which was such a relief. Because I had $2000 Down he told me to pick any car on the lot and he'd have me riding in 30 minutes. I didnt believe him so I picked a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I thought there was no way he could do that car with what the other dealers had told me. Charlie made me feel so appreciated when he kept his word and had me out of there driving off in less than an hour! so far I have sent 2 of my friends there who have gotten vehicles. I was very pleased with this dealer and will continue to send my friends and family there. Im sorry you two had a bad experience but I'm sure there must have been a misunderstanding because I do not see them "scamming" anyone.
I was sent to Ron's Auto buy a friend. I called in to ask about someone looking at my car because I could not get it to crank or turn over and my radio died at the same time. Was told buy the owner to bring it in and he would take a look for free. While there he told me how much it would cost to fix my car and then he asked about my front end. (" Which had been in need of repair for a long time. But I could not afford to do so after price checks with other places. It was just to much for a single person on a small pay check.") He told me he could look for the parts to fix it and give me a quote before he did the work. Needless to say he went way beyond expatiation he not only fixed the fuse box under the hood and my radio I now have 2 new turn lights and a right fender and a new bumper. All for parts and half the labor all those other shops charge!! The car starts on the first try and it looks even better than when I bought it . THANKS RON'S AUTO YOUR THE BEST!!!! I would tell the whole world if I could they truly are the best!! OMG almost forgot. They did a oil change and trans fluid change and checked and filled all the other fluids like power staring ,windshield fluid and so on. And did I mention the owner and staff were very polite and friendly with me. Did I say fast? I got my car back in less then 2 days!! They really are the BEST!!
The smile on my little Blue Mercury, that is! When she came to you she was very sick; coughing, spitting, sputtering, etc. etc. etc.! Now she is like new! No black smoke, choking, spitting, etc. THANK YOU!! If she could talk...or sing....I know she'd be singing the praises of the guys at Osteen's. My little Mercury would give you a great big 10 ! During the time she has been a part of my family, she has proved herself time and again ...and I owe her! On a trip to Daytona, she avoided a crash on I-95 with a burst of power that saved my friends and me from what "SHOULD" have been a major accident. On another trip, she sat in a hot parking lot at the Port of Miami while my friends and I were enjoying a cruise. The cruise line was replacing all the TV's, so there were hundreds of boxes of TV's stacked around the Port. During the week, a Tornado came thru the Port scattering TV's everywhere! Upon our return, there was one lonely little Mercury in the parking lot amid hundreds of TV's! and not one scratch! (ummm...wonder who was looking out for us?) So thank you again ...for taking care of "My Little Blue Mercury"!!
It is hard to find a honest, trustworthy, and professional car repair business. American Transmission has changed our mind and will be our go to for all of our future car needs! My wife had taken her vehicle to a well known big tire/auto repair store and was advised that she had a head gasket leak causing a coolant leak and would cost over $1800.00 to fix. In calling around for comparison pricing, my wife called American Transmission on Atlantic Blvd and spoke with Richard. Richard advised her that it may not be a gasket leak but something else and would be willing to look at it for free to determine where the leak was coming from. After a thorough inspection of the engine area his mechanic had determined it was not a head gasket leak! It was the oil pan gasket and bleeder line o'ring, out the door for a little over $400, much better than the $1800 that wouldn't have solved our issue! All we can say, THANK YOU Richard!! This place is unlike any dealership I have ever been to. Very down to Earth and knowledgeable about all the cars. There is absolutely no pressure when you are looking at the cars. Such a nice experience from others I've had with numerous dealerships. Not only does the owner, Michal, not pressure you, he services all of his cars to a very high standard. My car (BMW 745) had new brakes front and back, new tires, new floor mats, new oil, and then the alternator was acting funny the day after I bought the car so he replaced it with a brand new alternator because he said "that's the right thing to do." That is unheard of when it comes to buying used cars from any dealership pretty much. Anyway, I ended going in to get my wife a car and we both left with one because I trusted this guy to know he was giving me honest advice and wasn't trying to pressure a sale.
