Established in 1959, Powell Middle School offers academic and after-school programs to students in grades six through eight. Located in Jackson, Mass., the school conducts classes in science, math, language arts, social studies, music, and health and physical education. Powell Middle School has a library that offers a collection of books and online databases. Additionally, the school provides classes in family and consumer science. Powell Middle School also provides technology and business education classes. In addition, the school offers various sports activities, including volleyball, football and basketball. Powell Middle School has a team of paraprofessionals and guidance counselors. The school is a part of the Jackson Public School District.
Channel 18 – 7 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday Channel 19 – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week JPS/ITV shares air time on channel 18 with the City of Jackson's Public, Education, Government network. Public and government broadcasts begin airs between 4 p.m. and 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and and 24 hours a day Saturday and Sunday.
