Fanta's does braid well but the terrible thing about them is they use cheap hair. They lied and said the hair was 100% Human and it is not. If you go to Fanta (and I recommend that you do) PLEASE take your own hair. I cant do anything with this hair. It is hard and bushy. I felt the hair when I went for my appointment and it was very soft and pretty- However, once my braids were about a day or two old the hair looks a mess. The only style I can wear is a ponytail with the hair wrapped around it. I am used to wearing different cute styles but with this hair I can not. so, It's ok to go to FANTA's but TAKE YOUR OWN HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went to Russell's when I lived in Jackson, followed him to his current location after he moved from his old shop, and STAYED with him even after I moved to New Hampshire! I used to joke that I was the client who traveled the furtherest to get my hair done! Seriously, I am down back in the South (Louisiana) and I STILL make a special trip when I need a cut or color. I love the way my hair looks and feels, the color lasts, the cuts are always killer, and I feel like a million bucks afterwards. Go! It's worth it on many levels! You won't be sorry.
Roy does a great job cutting my hair. I went to him after having missed my monthly appointment with my prior hair stylist. He was no longer available to cut my hair. Roy and Diane worked me and my wife into their schedule. Roy has worked with me ever since, getting my hair back to a professional style without chopping my hair off in one fell swoop. He does an excellent job, has worked with me to establish a professional, natural style, and is always pleasant. I recommend him highly. I would also say that my wife would recommend Diane highly.
I travel to a lot places and I have went to many Braiding shops but Fanta's was the BEST , their shop was clean and everybody was so nice and welcoming. Fanta did my two goddess braids for $45 dollars and it was amazing it lasted me a month and I got many compliments . I came the second time and got micro braids They told me me straight up that the hair was blended and was not 100% human which is understandable because human hair cost like up to $400 dollars so i was sastifiesd with the hair they gave me. her work is just AMAZING!
I moved to Jackson last year and for about 9 months I continued to drive back home 3.5 hours away to get my hair cut and highlighted. Then I got brave and booked an appointment with Julie. She did an amazing job!!! Julie is fun to talk to and her prices are very reasonable. Not to mention she will see me after work, which is a plus. Just bring cash or check, they don't take credit cards.
Best haircut I've ever gotten...from the shampoo to the blowdry, you have true artists working on you. You can tell they didn't just "go to school"...it's their passion and art. I see Sarah J. but they're all fabulous. Awesome location and feels like a SoHo NYC salon inside! Eat at Auditorium next door after!
The atmosphere is great. Hard working worker that are nice and make the costomers feel comfortable. My hair was done quickly and the costumer service is WONDERFUL. If you want your hair done right by nice loving people, go to Fanta Braiding Shop..
