absolutely the best place in Jackson, MIchigan for barbeque. Not quite what we do in Texas, but it ranks up there. Whatever you do, avoid Mat's Cafe in the downtown, it's the nastiest barbeque out there. Very poor quality meat. Too fatty. Sauce is decent, but the meat is the worst.

They serve lunch every Wednesday through Friday in a Texas-style BBQ Joint environment. It is take-out only and they have specials like Prime Rib and sausage on Friday. The basic menu consists of Beef Brisket and Turkey Breast sandwiches on ciabatta bread with choice of sauce and toppings plus side dishes. All the meat is hand-carved right when you order. A very unique experience with excellent food and service.
