Very pleased with Dr.Oberly, I'm extremely terrified of the dentist and this is the first time I left the dentist smiling, he wouldn't even assess my tooth until the pain was controlled, I've been to many dentist that took x-rays with tears streaming down my face telling me I need to bite the plate harder and this was the best experience I've ever had. I've also been to dentist that took an x-ray and told me there was nothing wrong with my tooth it's just sensitive and a few months later pieces of my tooth fell out, Dr. Oberly explained that his x-ray machine is more sensitive than others and can catch the smaller cavities other machines might not be able to pick up, he did not talk bad about the other dentist which I thought was very professional he just explained what probably happened. I definitely would recommend him to anyone, especially someone with high anxiety and fear of the dentist.
Keep away from this dentist. Horrible experience for me. I wish I had read previous reviews.
the dentist did root canal on my molar without telling me the situation of my tooth nor ask my consent. only after the root canal was done did they tell me it was root canal. then i found a a crack on my tooth afterwards.
after last appointment, assistant told me no more appointment was needed. to my surprise after several days they told me extra procedure needed. just untrustworthy.
PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!!!I also had a bad experence with this dentist!!! I went to have my teeth cleaned with I was pregnant. He took x-rays and said the 4 teeth that had fillings were decayed and cracked and the fillings needed to be replaced. He numbered them in order of importance. On good faith, I decided to have one done. I asked that they check to see what insurance would cover, and they never did. He did the tooth and put on a crown. I had nothing but problems with it after that. He never said anything about the possibility of having to have a root canal later down the road!! Well I went to have the root canal..I told them my insurance would be ending as of 1/1/08. They started this root canal on 12/17/07!!! Then could not finish it. When I went to reschedule I was informed they could not get me in until Jan 15th!! 4 Weeks later. After my dental insurance expired 4 weeks prior! They said not to worry they would take care of it. Do not believe them. It is now 1/18/08 and they have yet to bill the insurance company. And when I did go back to get if finished, when I was leaving the front office staff tried to charge me an "estimated copay". I told them they had to bill insurance first and insurance tells me what I have to pay. Her response was that is not there office policy.
On top of all of this, I now have to have the same tooth REFILLED/CROWNED that he just did before the root canal. He wants me to pay him AGAIN for ANOTHER CROWN. WRONG. I plan on going back to the family dentist and having him fill it. I know he is not tring to get more money out of me.
PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. BAD CARMA!!
I went to Dr. Peter Oberly for a dental checkup, expecting to be told I should have my wisdom teeth out and maybe that I had a cavity. Sure enough, he said so. However, to my surprise, he also said I should have an additional several thousand dollars of surgery, including a bone graft and a tumor biopsy!
So I got two more opinions from trusted dentists, who agreed that I did not need all that Oberly had suggested. They couldn't even find the cavity he had mentioned! Avoid this dentist.
