BancTec, Inc. is a worldwide provider of comprehensive enterprise content management, image capture devices, infrastructure support services and payment processing products. BancTec has deployed transaction products in more than 50 countries. The company s headquarters are located in Irving, Texas, and it maintains branches in the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain and Sweden. The company was founded in 1972, but didn t release its first product, the CheckMender (which processed checks rejected by high-speed reader/sorters), until 1973. BancTec went public in August of 1980 and in 1992, the company entered into an exclusive agreement with Dell to provide nationwide, warranty on-site maintenance services to Dell's corporate customers.
